@@850CANE Honestly only if you have the money to afford the extra electrical support needed for it. You will need an extra battery in the rear and preferably a high output alternator along with runs of 1/0 audio or 2/0 welding wire. Also make sure your input voltage is less than 2 volts. @@Widowmaker2828 thanks bro. I have a 320 amp alternator on the way from auto tech. Currently have a stock 120 amp, xs power 3400 under hood with two ioxis super caps in the rear. Right now i have a smart 3 bass on two Sundown SA Classic 12s. I went from a jp23 to the smart 3 bass and it was a substantial improvement but right when it starts to hit like I want my clip light flashes. I don't know if the new alternator is going to help much with that so I've been thinking about going up to a 5k. I'm pretty new to all this so I didn't have a grasp of impedance rise of I would have went with a 4 or 5k to begin with. Now I'm at the point I've spent so much already I've gotta try to get the most bang for my buck. I'm a believer in Taramps after getting this one. I can still return it to Amazon and upgrade. I just didn't know if I should go bass, smart bass or just go with a md5k. My DSP allows me to adjust the input voltage to the amp to whatever I want. I'd love to get a big Korean board but jeez they're expensive. I don't want to get a 3,500 watt Korean and wish I'd have just gotten a Brazilian or Chinese 5k at the end. Thoughts? I appreciate the help

@@850CANE If it were me I'd go with the Smart 5k Bass amp. It is more impedance rise and input voltage friendly than the MD8K. Just keep your input voltages within spec and your voltage above 13 and you should be golden with whatever you choose. 👍

what bugs me when someone says "well that amp puts out dirty power" then Steve Meade, Big D Wiz or Jason Jones has a video putting the amp on the amp dyno and running it in both certified and uncertified.....so if its dirty hows it reading pretty much anything up to distortion? but you know electrical engineers with a Masters degree from Facebook university are the world leading experts in this stuff apparently lol.

@@TManMusicPage honestly I do run taramp in my pickup. Recently I switched back over to Korean board. DS18 3.5 to exact. And the difference between the lows is phenomenal. Night and day ! So it's safe to say I'm staying on the Korean side until the Brazilian boards start coming equipped with a bass knob lol

And to let some of these people know how much I like taramps, I sold 2 JL audio amps just to get my md8000. And I absolutely loved those 2 JL amps. They were my babies.

Okay so you do competition do you know of any videos or could you help me out with figuring out how to keep from blowing a 500 amp breaker using the taramp MD 5000. 1 I will be running 2 skar evl 12d4 wired to 1 ohm last time I had 2 sundown audio 12d4 I kept blowing a 300 amp breaker on a taramp hd3000

@@craighowe3602 I’m sorry for the confusion but I don’t compete yet. I’m still building my system. That being said what type and gauge wire are you using to power your amplifiers ? I’m running my Taramps Smart 5K Bass on a single 1/0 solid cooper cable with a 250 amp fuse and I have never had any problems with it blowing the fuse. I have had many systems over the years with anything from a single 10” sub and a 500 watt amplifier all of the way up to some really crazy stuff and if you use good power cables you shouldn’t have any issues with blowing the fuses as long as everything is wired correctly.

I realize you aren't discussing the smart amps, I'm considering a smart 3 bass, I want fierce power as well as to be able to use it for sq at lower volumes daily. I've installed many amps over the years, and the class ab and a amps always seem to sound better than d and t class, and seem to not have phase issues from one amp to another.

That's something I wish amp manufacturers would touch on. It would be better for us consumers if they told us power output in terms like "20Hz - 20kHz for x amount of time" but too many simply don't bother. It's like a guess if the, lets say 1k rating on X amp is able to do that from 20Hz to 20kHz for any longer than 5 seconds. Sure music isn't a static sine wave that would pull 1k for any length of time. But that doesn't mean you can slap on a 1k rating on an amp that can only do that at 1kHz for 10 seconds before either tripping a protection feature (Also lacking is protection on amps but I digress) or something worse. Now the Smart 3k does mention -3dB at 10Hz to 10kHz, but that doesn't mean it'll do rated that low. It has a highpass. (10Hz ~ 90Hz (-12dB/8ª) Variable___ Whatever the heck 8a means I have no clue.) So that might be the main reason 10Hz is 3dB down. If you were talking about bass under 10Hz then that is why. For stuff that low I think you'd want an amp that doesn't have a highpass. And know your subwoofers limits with it in a sealed box or IB setup.

@@2slofouru forgot to mention the smart3 plays pretty low, will it go as low as say the Bass 12k in the video i linked you idk? mainly because the wall in the video i linked you was tuned under 30 where as the smart3 in my Wifes truck ive been using for testing and what not because she also drives it its tuned higher but ive definitely been playing a few lower note songs here and there. as far as class ab amps over time the technology has been getting better between class a to class d to where the ab amps are getting more efficient while class d is getting better sq. Can one blow the other out the water in its own category? i dont think so unless you go super low end vs super high end but eventually we will get to a point we can have best of both worlds as amp companies innovate

@@2slofouru oh one last thing, you dont want amps to include bass knobs if you have an amp with the factory bass knob turn it all the way up and listen to the music with it in and with it out, like without pausing it. if your lucky the sound wont change at all but alot of them you lose a tiny bit of output with it in. something like an SPL cartel, Pac LC-1 or Slampanda rca bass knob is a million times superior

Get the 1800 md, 1400 rms @ 2ohms is underrated it can reach 1600 rms..🤘

That’s why the bass series is the best when it comes to subwoofer only Md is a full range amp that’s why you go with the Smart Bass or bass series I personally think bass series is better then the Smart Bass the Smart Bass just keeps you from blowing the amp so it’s smart like you! But I got the bass 3 and 5k and the put out nothing but bass plus you can tune your bass to the structure of your car!

If you have two dual two ohm subwoofers you will have a impedance rise back up to 1ohm or above if you have two dual one ohm subwoofers and you wire them two a quarter of a ohm you might have problems just don't wire at a quarter of a ohm?

@@1320MotorWorks If you wire all 4 in series that will give you a 2ohm load? YOU Parallel all 4 it will give you a. 25ohm load with a box rise no more than. 5ohms that's hard on a amplifier? If you are daily driving? Only for spl? I wouldn't run them Parallel? That's my opinion unless you get a beefed up Korean amplifier with 16 volt electrical system?

I have a lot of friends that's running bass k at .5ohms but that's not. 5 you have to consider box rise? It will bring it back up to. 75 to 1.3 ohms?

@@ceciljones1248 I'm running series/parallel now at 2ohms. so all wired parallel is .5 ohms. and yes its a daily driver. I'm going to hold off and go with the smart 5k bass then change the wiring to .5ohms. thanks though.
