I'm trying to get the courage to get another jumper. I had one and their short life span is just so unfair. They have such big personalities for a little being 🖤

I saw this girl who keeps rats, her words not mine. Rats also have very short lifespans, and she said that even though they only last the small amount of time that they do. Once you get them, you are giving them their forever home. I still remember that very distinctly because it hits close to my heart. I also felt that way about my praying mantises. Since in captivity they normally only live up to 1.5 years. But, I know that they’re not gonna last forever and I’m giving them the best life possible. Hope this helps you

They will definitely use the walnut. Both of my jumpers love theirs. Super easy to transport if you need to clean their enclisure

OMG one of my friends has a walnut hide for her jumper named Hubble and he absolutely LOVES it! She's sent me videos of him sitting in it with his little front peets hanging out and it's the cutest thing. I'm sure your spoods will love them as well!

@@kirasnow4436 she doesn't have one just for him. She has since gotten two of Ophelia's babies. So now there is Hubble, Chiron, and Jupiter. I must say between Kat and my friend I am starting to come around to spiders...well the jumpers at least

I've been using walnut hides for my jumpers for a while, and in my experience they tend to build their webs on the outside of it where the magnet is. lol

I was wondering that. It seems like when I try to provide them with a hide, they build next to it >.> Flowers and leaves still seem most preferred.

Good lord these ones are cute. It’s been a year since I’ve had jumpers and I miss their little faces. My first graders are ready for one but it’s too cold here in NH for shipping now. In the spring hopefully. Thanks for sharing g these beauties.

I just wanted to tell you thank you for your videos over jumping spiders. I have a huge phobia of spiders, but I have held a small tarantula (for about 30 seconds, photo op) and now am leaning towards purchasing a jumping spider. Because I'm starting to find them very cute, something I never thought I would say. But I love watching all your videos and wanted to just simply say thank you.

They are all so pretty. I loved the white and tan one. I had a wild one in on my bathroom ceiling for a year, and its the only spider who hasn't triggered my arachnophobia. Normally spiders movements freak me out, but jumping spiders are more crab like in their movements really. They're just precious. Are these the vegetarian type or are they insectivores?

I have arachnophobia too and i feel the same way about jumping spiders! Unfortunately i live in germany where jumping spiders are really hard to get. Someday i was able to find a reeeeaaally tiny species of them in our backyard and i was shocked and scared first when i saw him (arachnophobia kicked in that moment bc i thought it was a normal spider & even tiny ones scare the Sh** out of me usually) but then i realised that their behaviour is completely different from normal spiders! I could not get over it how adorable he looked at me with his two big eyes and his cute big pedipalps that i immediately captured him and now he is still my first pet spider and i often just sit in front of him looking at him bc he is sooo cute even though he is a really tiny european species that only get to a maximum size of two cm!

Nothing better for Spooky Day, or any day really, than adorable jumping spiders!🕷They are beautiful and I think I would end up struggling to choose who to keep as well. They seem to love the filming equipment, first the camera then the tripod, jumping all over it.

Hey, Kat. You're one of the pet tubers that convinced me to get a jumping spider of my own. The problem is, she (probably she) arrived three days ago and still has not eaten. Do you have any tips on getting a jumping spider to eat? Update: Out of desperation, I killed a fruit fly, placed it in her web, and left it overnight. Today, I found her eating it. So, hooray for small victories! I'm still interested to hear your thoughts, though.

These little ones remind me of Lucas the spider. Which has helped my wife refrain from jumping onto the ceiling at the sight of a spider. She still freaks out but is much better.

It’s so cool that you took it upon yourself to get comfortable with our wee little friends 😊 soooo many women kill bug in general *all* the time while I’m over here trying to save them and put them outside. To me, it’s the equivalent of killing an animal-so very unacceptable. Breaks my heart every time. So thank you for caring so well for one! This is amazing.

I love those hides I've been meaning to get some ever since I saw them in a jumping spider facebook group! I just ordered a P. Texanus and excited to have a new baby! My 3 jumpers I already a year old and one is like a year half and can't climb the sides of the enclosure anymore so I'm fearing she'll pass soon.

I'm a farmers daughter and grew up on a huge farm & have had just about every kind of pet a girl could ever want ! Ive hated spiders all of my life & now, thanks to you ! Ive been self educating myself to be a first time spider 🕷️🕸️ mom ! Once I feel that I'm ready I will order my very own special cute spider long all of my very own. And on the bright side , I'm sure my new spider baby will be much easier to care for than pigs, chickens , goats and cattle !! Spread the love and pass it on ! Pay it forward 😍😘🕷️

I remember you had some other previous jumping spider pet that had died and you saved. Have you tried preserving insects in resin? You could even them turn them into a pendant or small marble. Just make sure the resin is UV resistant that way it doesn’t turn yellow.
