I don't think they were trying to make it believable, just tryna show off a fun filter/ special effects thing that they could do.

As randomname has said, for so many reasons that is complete bolox, but doesn't explain why it is sometimes able to be in silent mode (I believe used as early as Troughton or Pertwee), but it seems safe to assume that doing so must sacrifice something: safety in some area or more power perhaps. Or maybe it uses more mercury from those fluid links! 😉

I don't know but maybe CGI or VFX as it couldn't be done by taking a still before and after the TARDIS "lands" and then mixing the 2 shots as the early days of the show did. Then again the most video editing skills I've had is pressing pause on OBS when I need to do something off camera

In video editing software, you can "track" certain bits. So, for instance, you can tell your software to keep track of that silver bump in the railing and the edge of that brick. Using key points like this, as long as the camera movement isn't too chaotic, you can have something appear to be connected to those bits by having the software draw it in based on where those bits are.

You have to use something called 3d camera tracking - as pointed out previously - the real trick with this shot is the fact that its a handheld moving shot - Once you have your track data you can apply that to your project. I imagine either blender or after effects with Video co pilot element 3d has been used - or any 3d software. You then place in a T.A.R.D.I.S model - loads online - and then place it into the scene - scale it - position it and so on till it looks nice. Finally match the lighting on the model to match the shot - the most crucial step to make it look believable. Finally apply the tracking data so it doesn't just stay in one place. Then transition between the T.A.R.D.I.S render - probably done in editing software with the two final shots to time with the music and SFX. There is also simulated lighting and dust elements. I will say the only problem is the dust isn't motivated by any movement here. Great work done though
