@charleighh.990 I have no desire to soak my 79 yo mother or to ruin her clothing and mine. I also use a transport chair bc her regular wheelchair is very heavy lifting in and out all the time. It has small wheels and a fabric seat. Not sure it would go through that nor would I try. And I wouldn't want a soaking wet chair in the back of my car. I appreciate people who help, maybe you don't. @@charleighh.990I’m a paraplegic, and I can’t go through standing water that deep! A: It’s awful for the chair, as not all of its nuts and bolts and other bits and bobs are rust proof. B: Maybe it’s just my “wimpy girl hands” or something, but I can’t grip my hand rims when they’re wet! I know MANY quads and paras who also can’t grip their hand rims when they’re wet. There has been more than one post on Reddit about the best solution for rainy days. Most of us keep a pair of leather gloves on us at all times, I myself use baseball batting gloves because they have a bit of padding on them. But at a certain level of rain/downpour/standing water, even the gloves can’t grip the hand rims. So you do you, but the rest of us are out here trying to take good care of our chairs and car upholstery… and not have gross parking lot water hands….
