Guys idk what you think, BUT Tarja is the best OPERA singer at the moment there's no better than her and she proves it with songs like that one and the other songs from plovdiv. I was there and i just can say it was amazing ...

I was there... The ancient theater was full, the rain was falling, and nobody cares, we just were listening to Tarja... She was like an angel in this evening... Thank you, Tarja, for the most exciting moment in my life!

Pero para uno como miembro de la orquesta y coro es demasiada distracción y aparte nos desespera, yo también estaría emocionado de escuchar a Tarja cantando esta joya, pero por algo hay muchísimas reglas de comportamiento en las presentaciones de cualquier orquesta sinfónica.

Es verdad que desconcentra muchísimo, pero el que Tarja llegue tanto a su público y lo conmueva de esa manera, también es una experiencia única y maravillosa, para disfrutarla. Porque es fácil que en una buena actuación de pop o de rok , la gente se anime con las palmas, pero conseguir que lo hagan por ejemplo con una ópera, eso es dificilisimooooooo. :-)

Nada que ver, en todo caso pueden aplaudir al final de cada pieza tal y como en cada concierto de una orquesta sinfónica y eso es por respeto al trabajo de todos los involucrados en escena, aunque ni es una ópera, tampoco es un concierto de música popular, no se trata si "logro conmover a la gente o no", porque como dije yo también estaría extasiado de escuchar a Tarja cantando este tema con el sentimiento que siempre canta, pero así se manejan las cosas en cualquier concierto de ese tipo en todo el mundo, creo (porque no fuí :c )en México la gente se comportó mucho mejor que la gente en este video siendo que somos un público más eufórico y pasional, yo mismo he tenido la grandiosa oportunidad de cantar en el coro de una orquesta sinfónica muchas veces y he visto a la gente conmoverse de forma muy bella sin necesidad de hacer ruido innecesario, hasta el aplauso del final se siente mas satisfactorio.

Actually she has ... many times))). In that concert there wer a lot of opera songs and quite low number of rock... It was a classical concert and in the classic music usually singers sing opera :D. And also i have watched her opera videos ^^

To all those crying over Tarja singing NW songs at her shows really need to get their noses out of Tuomas's arse. She sings them probably because she enjoys to, because they were written for voice, but most of all she sings them because her fans WANT to hear a NW song or two. There are many singers out there who went solo after being in a band & still sing songs from their former bands. I don't see what the big deal is.

After doing 2 conservatories and headlining classical concerts for over a decade... I think we can call her a "pro classical singer". What you are referring to is that many years ago she said she is not a pro opera singer because that particular genre would require her to drop her career in rock and even in other classical subgenres.

Actually...Grisell is technically right. Tarja is classically trained--so yes, she does have vocal capacities that match an opera singer. The ONLY difference (which she herself has said) is that she isn't trained to sing without a microphone. That's what differentiates the training--opera singers have to project without one over a stage. So it's a bit unfair to say she's better. Not unwarranted, but she doesn't have to do THAT part. She is definitely capable of learning it though.

Me gusta que ahora hace mejor y llega bien al registro agudo (la version de estudio ella hace 2 voces: aguda y grave) ya que en FWTE ella cantaba en vivo solo en la voz grave. Peeero, su solo al final (el oooooooooo) antes no lo cortaba tanto para respirar. Aun así, me facinó esta versión..... aunque su baterista.... este.... me reservo la opinión.

actually, they might find it amusing. I have friends who are professional players and they usually complain about how incredibly boring and lifeless the people can be, especially when the players are young and their audience is basically friends and family members

Maybe, but during Tarja's performance here in this vid clapping and shouting is really an interruption, so for the viewer of the vid it sucks. Sorry, I haven't been there, I just notice and comment the audience's behavior in the vid...

and when has ever Tarja sung opera in all her life???? SHE IS NOT AN OPERA SINGER!!! Opera is completely different from what she does, even in her classical concerts!!! She is a classical trained singer, not an opera singer ;) Anyway, I love her, there are many other sopranos with better technique, but her performance is great.

no, she has never sung opera, what she sings is chamber music, and this is not opera. Opera is much different, and Tarja had never sung opera. Actually, she had said that she can't sing an entire opera, but her speciality is chamber music and lied, both are diferent styles within the classical music, and this is what you have watched her to sing, not opera. But believe me, she is a classical singer, not an opera singer.

Концерта беше невероятен, жалко че публиката там бяха първобитни хора, очевидно без идея за култура. Абе къде се е видяло да се пляска по време на изпълнение на оперен жанр, туй направо ме разби и най-жалкото беше, че сигурно повече от половината пляскаха, докато тя изпълняваше. А за изцепките с английския, който упорито успяха да докажат, че въпреки възрастта им, нивото им е на третокласник. Концерт невероятен, публика - излагация.

-cont- The opera in each has tens and hundreds of hired singers and it's nothing related to virtuosity. They are hired professionals who earn their living by singing opera. Just like an actor, a professor or a butcher. - She is not hired at the opera because she became a metal legend at age 18. Duh. -Imho she is better than most opera singers today because when comparing SAME aria, she does it better. Even here in Plovdiv she sang Carmen for the first time ever, better than anyone in activity.

Tarja got so emotional from our applause and love! She loves her audience even though we are too loud sometimes and she forgives us ;o) Tarja is used to performing in such loud settings, come on, she's done so many metal festivals. Emotions can't be stopped by anything during a concert not even by good manners. Tarja won't be here without her fans and she respect this. Better have a loud audience rather than a boring silent one.

If I had a penny for every time I seen an "opera conesseur" repeating these words identically... I don't know why but FUNNILY 90% of such people on YT are spanish-speaking south-americans. WTF is with that really? Indeed Tarja said 10 years ago she is not an opera singer and she did it imho with the purpose of not generating such stupid discussions and from modesty. Of course she is not an "opera singer" because she is not hired at an opera house. -cont-
