I've been using the t5000 with the shrewd muzzle break (increased velocity) with m993. It's basically hitscan up to around 100m give it a try for sure. I normally run suppressed but with the recent buffs the shrewd is absolutely insane. Dvl is my close second tho!

100% with you on suppressed DVL and SMG. I have been using MP7 (A1 or A2) as a back-up (tend to find them a lot in stashes/scav case).

Bolts dont get nearly enough love. I've been saying for a while bolts should have way higher accuracy and bullet velocity than their semi-auto counterparts even if in real life they could shoot the exact same because other then for quests there was no reason at all to run bolts. You dont want literally an entire category of weapons to be damn near useless

Dvl & 215 are my go to depending on what my budget is glad they are standing out from the other weapons now

I’ve been playing Tarkov for about 2 years and things can get a little stale when you finish the majority of the quests. But pretty much this whole last month I have been running a bolt action with a pistol or a smg and man is it a blast. Knowing you are at a clear disadvantage against Chad’s and still coming out on top will just never get old! But I’m for sure going to give the T-5000 another shot. Thanks for the info man. M993 FTW! I was a big SV-98 guy. Early wipe when it was cheap still was the way to go. Now the power filter trade is easily the cheapest way to get a sniper rifle as it’s suppressed and I wouldn’t recommend running snipers loud unless you have a squad as it will cause people to push you, and then you only have a sniper rifle. Then pick your scope of choice and have fun

SV 98 at 60 durability still has decent accuracy, which is insane tbh (thank you sniper scav). Also if I'm running a Mosin to snipe, I put tracer rounds in and one of the muzzle brakes. It kills what little ergo you had left but u can actually see when your round went. Great video as always !

VPO-215 with AP. it got me through a lot of the the Jager quests.

Hot tip here. When using the T5000 and a Valday 1/6x, the sound of the scope magnification being toggled does not trigger. It's unclear if this is simply a lack of audio on MY side Vs. server side, but I like to think people can't hear me toggle my scope. I only run the Valday so I can't confirm if it works with other scopes but I would assume so as it only happens for me with the T5000.

I've never enjoyed using bolt actions in Tarkov, mostly because I never saw a reason to use them over a semi-auto or auto gun with a scope other than to do the quests you need bolties for. It's interesting that in real life, their advantage is the lack of automatic chambering mechanism which makes them more accurate at very long distances. The problem in Tarkov is that you don't have fights at these very long distances. The velocity buff is welcome, but I wonder how much of a difference it will make. I wish you could at least level the sniper skill by hitting shots with any weapon at over 100 m while looking through a 4x or greater scope or something. My favourite sniper is the suppressed DVL due to how quiet and smooth it sounds, but I didn't realise how bad the sight picture was compared to some other bolties. I might have to try the T5000 next.

Will we know soon if the velocity will effect the performance of the round ? Rounds like 5.56 does heavily rely on its velocity to be lethal so does it really only effect the speed or does it lower/buff the Performance of the Round by X% ?

When i was running bolty only to increase my bolt action skill i chose the SV-98 over the others. It was cheap for the ergo and was easy to mount any type of optic on. I would use it for close range as well, taking off the scope and fighting people in close combat. I have won several 1v2's and countless 1v1's with the SV-98 within 20 meters. What kept getting me killed in prolonged fights was the low stamina gauge which cripples my ability to aim. If i could mount a 10" barrel to a bolty i would, no the Obrez does not count imo.

Hey vox at 3:58 you said the sniper mosin’s only benefit is the ability to mount a PU scope. You can also add a picatinny rail and add whatever optic. The infantry mosin can only use iron sights (unless I’m missing something) just thought I’d leave this here for others as an optic is certainly a big improvement over irons imo

My top 2 boltys are the suppressed DVL and the top tier M700 with the MOD X setup…just hit your first shot and no need to worry about bolt animation 😉…the T5000 is third but that 5 round mag and the fact when folded it doesn’t make it smaller just annoys me lol

T-5000 for the bigger open maps like Woods/Reserve, SV-98/M700 for Interchange/Shoreline SV-98/Mosin for customs

The beard oil barter for the M700 is just too good for me to pass up. So I’ve been using it all wipe with gemtech suppressor and vudu. Pretty cheap to run overall.

Obrez but switch the short barrel for the long barrel and put two of those giant flashlights on it and put the biggest suppressor you can on it and the pistol grip and you got yourself the best sniper in the game hands down

VPO-215 rats get our spotlight finally! :D Seriously, this rifle is so underrated. The 209 is simply too inaccurate with its MOA and velocity, but the 215 suppressed is perfect for 200m and under (setting your zero will help with leads. From my long range tests, the grouping can still accurately hit heads at 120m) For those who still can't unlock or buy AP ammo (assuming you weren't lucky enough to find it off scavs), EKO is a nice substitute for scav hunting, though PVP will be hard.

Inertia should hopefully help bolt action weapons a bit! SV-98 with SNB is my favorite budget bolt action.

What exactly is velocity in this game? I thought the bullet decides the velocity? ie 300m/s from the starting point of the barrel.

DVL-10 Urbana is the quietest long range weapon in the game. I am convinced of this. You can barely hear the fucker 10m away and clap someone across the map

I just want to point out how bad the MOA and ergo of the Mosin are. In my eyes there is never a situation you should pick a Mosin over a SV-98. Speaking of 7.62x54R, this caliber has 2 amazing ammo types: PS/7N1 can onetap thoraxes up to lvl 4 armor, like you mentioned. BT/7BT1 is an armor piercing tracer round, so you get SNB-like pen with a tracer for those long range shots.

When did this change happen, I made a cheatsheet for ranges literally just last week...

.366 ap is listed on no food after midnight ammo chart as 42 pen, but even in the video both the class armors took 2 taps. (it also has 90 dmg so it should one tap class 4 with those stats) did it get nerfed? I remember last wipe when i played that round would one shot class 4 to the chest.. making that sniper rifle very deadly. What do you think about being able to purchase upgraded rack bolt so any rifle can use the bolty like the T-5000. I agree with the m700 comments, you can build a super slick weapon but if you miss that 1st shot.... yikes

VPO with 366 AP.. killedn a squad of 3 Chads running DVLs and SVDs lol. They had no idea where I was shooting from which helped. But for 60k including gun, scope, and silencer it works lol

I disagree with M62. M80 or M61 only unless you understand what you're doing with the velocity differences. 80 and 61 are much closer in velocity to each other, M62 is a lot slower but pen and damage are very similar to M80.

feel like i never use boltys cos their ergo is just soooo low. why use a bolty when I can use an adar with wayyy more ergo :/
