How can a PMC survive 5 R37F when that is 485 damage if there is no damage reduction from legs?

Im curious how important fragmentation chance is. Especially with the bug where rounds under 20 pen having no frag chance. Rounds like the ss197sr, 545 PS, 556 HP might be better than the max damage rounds of their caliber.

Upper chest then work your way to head. it's what I've been using since I started playing online fps. It work for most of them, including tarkov, except when the guy has a Vector loaded with 7n31 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ or my SCAV has buckshot

Old comment but Markstrom made a video on customs spawn guide which is super useful even for the new spawns recommend watching it, you can find other videos for the other maps as well im sure

@@bretert Except P90 mags alone are expensive as shit, and if you're gonna sink in that much money for a leg meta weapon, might as well go with SS190 for shredding through helmets/faceshields. Plus, MP5s and Quakemaker are easier and less expensive to obtain and run in the first place.

@@Maxfoshow kinetic energy, multiply the mass of the round by the velocity and you get the energy of the round. You don't have to be an "expert" to do simple math.

It could make sense theoretically. Lets say we're talking non expanding bullets and you're shot in the leg with 5.56 NATO and .45 ACP and the bullets go straight through flesh. At the end of the day, the .45 caliber is a bigger bullet and makes a bigger hole than the .22 caliber meaning "more damage". If we assume an expanding bullet for the .45 vs then it would do even more damage.

No how this silly game calculates damage causes some damage to magically disappear. It's suppose to spread all the damage done to a blacked out limb to the rest of the body at a multiplier depending on the location hit, but sadly the blacked out limb absorbs damage. The actual way damage is calculated is: (location hit modifier)x(bullet damage)/(total # of body parts)*(total number of non blacked out body parts). So if you were to shoot someone with the .366 Geksa in the leg it would be 1x110/7x7, but the leg gets blacked out after 65 so the remaining 45 damage goes back through the formula: 1x45/7x6=38.5714285714 rounding up to 39 damage. So one bullet of .366 Geksa to the leg does 65+39 spread damage for a total of 104. The next shot in the same leg would do 1x110/7*6=94.2857142857 rounding down to 94 damage. That is why in the video .366 Geksa takes 5 shots when it does 110 damage and PMCs have 440 HP. And how someone actually dies to leg meta is the game trying to do damage to the head or the thorax and that body part not having enough health to tank it. But since everything does spread evenly you need to do roughly all 440 HP before there is enough damage to the head or the thorax.

I was wondering the same on most of the rounds tested. My guess is there is some randomness to the actual damage output of the rounds, or the damage spread multiplier through the leg isn't 1x the damage but slighly lower.

@@bigg5245 Maybe while spreading the damage output to the other limbs(dividing the damage) the damage below decimal point gets thrown away? Just my thought though.

​@@osscar-nh2vm I think it's because arms only take 0.7x after blacked, and stomach takes 1.5x, even they all blacked out you get -0.1x reduction. The stomach also has slightly more health than arms, so arms will be blacked out faster and do more damage reduction. That's why you probably can take more than 440 damage depends on the bullets. Edit: I'm wrong. Additional damage on blacked limbs applies to all body parts, but if the body part is blacked, it just doesn't take more damage from other blacked limbs. So more limbs are blacked you get more damage reduction. Even you lose all your limbs, but with full health head and thorax, you can still take a 12x70 rip in the leg without dying, since you are taking 2/7 * 265

Higher rate of fire doesn’t mean it’s more effective. The whole leg meta is based on one precondition, that is, you can land your shots on the leg consistently. Apparently glock18 doesn’t provide that ability over 10 meters. The best choice is still mp9n here, cheap and low recoil with high rate of fire.

I mp153 w/ mag buck, leg meta on interchange. Its mostly about positioning.

yes math is a lie :-/ because damage is distributed to every limb and the blacked out limb "can`t take dmg" so you lose some from the 110 - i thought like you until i found out the crazy tarkov trouht

When doing leg meta you have to keep in mind that only .7 of the damage is transferred to the rest of the body.

Because shooting a blacked out leg does the bullets damage everywhere else too.
