Being a Texas Ranger, I think he’s learned to take things in stride. Might make it difficult to impress him, but as far life decisions go, he knows this is who his son is and would rather not lose him over that. I think the real pushback is gonna be from mom.

@@elizabethknight7122 You know, the show tried to make it seem like Carlos's parents were less than supportive, but that turned out to be far from the case. It makes me wonder why the writers bothered to do that in the first place. What was the point?

@@kathrynhoward4196 I think it makes the point that coming out to your parents can be scary, even though they are supportive, and even if you think they won't accept, they might. Idk I really liked it tbh. Not everything in life is easy, but sometimes it's not as bad as you might think. Also no struggle for both would have been too easy in my eyes, and Carlos not being accepted by his parents would not have been as feel-good as this relationship in general is, so I think it's the best decision they could have made.

The moment Carlos dad said 'your boyfriend' with a gentle smile on his face, I was like 'I knew it!' and puts a smile on me too! Omg Tarlos may really be one of the best man & man couples in TV history. Please make them the endgame! 🙏🙏🙏

I always thought Carlos dad knew they were a couple from the market- come on he is a Texas ranger (not an idiot) and can put two and two together. Carlos gave the game away at the market, he said "we work together". The dad "so you are police too", TK "no I am a fire fighter"- dad was thinking.....ermmm, ok

Someone also pointed out a friend is never that excited to meet someone’s parents lol. TK’s attitude and change when Carlos called him his friend definitely gave it away too haha

I'm so loving all these sweet, intimate moments between Carlos and TK. The first half of season 2 had a bunch of them, and even though kisses got cut out at the start, I just love the path that their relationship has taken so far, them building trust and love and care for one another. I love that Carlos' dad already knew, and that spares us another having to come out type scene with his parents and TK again. Kind of shows that while his dad is aware of Carlos and his life, he's not good at expressing himself emotionally. But that scene between Carlos and him was good. Call out to the neat parallel between Owen and Carlos' dad, the whole "he is an impressive guy" bit that we've had twice before, the only thing missing was his dad saying "well, he's my son". One of my favorite episodes of season 2 so far!!!!

I loved the Tarlos scenes in this episodes but the cherry on top would've been if Carlos dad had said something about seeing TK get mad when Carlos called him his friend. Something like, " I knew that day at the market when his face pinched up at being called your friend." A little knock to the chin like that would've fit their father-son dynamic well.

@@NatNat_626 That may still happen in an upcoming episode this season. I can’t imagine that they would introduce Carlos parents in the middle of the season and then them not factor in the rest of Carlos storyline this season.

One thing I’ve noticed is that Carlos is very respectful of his dad addresses him yes sir!! Even though some scenes his dad is harsh on him ! But his dad loves him no matter what as Owen loves TK!!

Carlos came out to his mom and dad when he was 17. I dont know when T.K. told his dad but T.K. was going to ask Alex, a guy to marry him when they lived in N.Y. so that alone is a strong sign your boy is gay, lol

When people told Owen that TK is impressive, he responded with "he's my son." When they told TK that Owen is impressive, TK responded with "he's my dad." When Gabriel was told that Carlos is impressive, he's just silent 😞

I hope Carlos never gets sick or hurt, T.K. would jump off the cliff / relapse , if that wouldnt make T.K. relapse I would be shocked, but I never want to see T.K. relapse for ANY reason, but an addict, it s always a fear it COULD happen

Carlos came out to his parents when he was 17, they hugged him and saied they loved him. the next morning not one word was spoken about Carlos s reveal . that is why Carlos was not in a hurry to tell his parents about who and what T.K. was and meant to him. But dad came thru for his boy
