Battletoads (1991) is a futuristic beat 'em up game known for its extreme difficulty spread over 12 difficult levels. The mechanics in the game also change drastically from level to level, making the game one of the hardest and most varied for the NES.
In this game, the second most diabolical evil genius in the universe, The Dark Queen, has kidnapped Princess Angelica and Pimple - a battletoad. Rash and Zitz must save them by traveling through the most insane multilevel set of plans ever designed. This includes falling down huge shafts, racing through obstacle courses at breakneck speeds, riding on snakes through a massive maze of spikes, passing through a killer ventilation system, navigating through a missile defense system, climbing a never ending revolving tower, and much much more. Along the way, the Battletoads must also face off against an evil army of robots, genetically engineered rodents, and The Dark Queen herself.
In this run, feos ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/feos ), Alyosha ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/A... ), and Samsara ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/S... ) improved upon the previous publication ( tasvideos.org/320M ) by 02:39.34 using many new tricks and glitches.

I never realized this but battletoads has a rare case of a bossfight viewed in 2nd person. (Seeing yourself through the enemy's eyes not just the cameras)

22 minutes… without warps I’d probably be in the turbo tunnels in that amount of time. That skip was hilarious. I’ve never been in the plane/fire level… I’ve always warped from the snake pit

I have a challenge for your TASbot or any human in general. Try to get 8 lives from bopping birds against the walls on level two. This is an actual challenge printed on the trading card for Battletoads from the Super Power Club.

Props on that gap at 16:42 that one is hard to get. Fastest I ever beat this game was about 23 mins or so, no warps. This was solid.

@@avalonjustin when people talk about warps they typically mean the in-game warps located in level 1, level 3, level 4, and the second snake level. I may have missed one but a TAS uses exploits that a human player may not be able to input without help Using any warp has the queen say you cheated🤷🏻‍♂️

Some one should make a battletoads ROM hack that gives rash his killer instinct moves and a combo system and also combo points and have a ex meter ,also I got move list ideas for anyone who wants to make this ROM hack,The Side Scrolling Beat em up levels: Punch:Attack, Kick:Jump,you could use punch and kick together to do combos Wrecking ball move:← or→+attack,Nuclear knuckles:↓+attack,Uppercut ↑+attack, axe foot:press attack while in midair, Big Bad Boot Ex(cost the ex meter):Attack+Jump, goat horns ex(costs the ex meter):double tap←or→+attack+jump and also the uppercut can launch enemies in the air and you could do air combos,Tongue Grab:Hold the attack button and release,Drill foot:↓+attack in midair, and also make the pause a menu and make it have a move list and also when the enemies are trying to combo you down make sure you upper cut them to do a combo breaker and please make the rom hack a zip file and do it to the nes version and make the enemies health bar visible and make the enemies take more hits and make the hit detection visible. Level 2 The wookie hole Kick:Attack,Punch:Jump, ,ball and chain:↓↓→+attack,big foot ex:↓↓←→+attack, Wrecking ball move ex :←↓→+attack. Level 3 Turbo Tunnel,Motorbike controls:Move↑ or ↓,Dash:Attack+↑or↓.And make sure theres nothing you have to jump over throughout the romhack. you only just have to deal with fighting
