The Adventures of Bayou Billy (1989) contains a trinity of genres: beat 'em up (like Streets of Rage ( tasvideos.org/1064M )), sniping (like part of Golgo 13 ( tasvideos.org/2179M )), and car racing (like Rad Racer ( tasvideos.org/2847M )). In the game, "Bayou" Billy West fights his way through Louisiana en route to New Orleans in order to save his kidnapped girlfriend, the luscious Annabelle Lane.
The American version of this game is a lot more difficult than the Japanese one (Mad City), although this video makes it seem easy.

Ugh, Christ, the memories I have of this damn game. I remember beating this thing legit back in the day. Got to the point where I could do it in about 20-25 minutes whenever I fired it up, but holy shit the journey to get to that point was painful. Just shows what persistence, a lot of free time, and the inability to afford other games because you're a kid can make possible. Every other kid I knew whose parents had money gave up and played something else. In fact, I think that was how I got ahold of this game back then. One of my buddies just gave it to me because he couldn't be arsed with it.

Both this game and TMNT were developed by Konami, so at least some of the same sound and music composers would've worked on both games.

@@Radman1889 Have you played Mad City? The japanese version of this game is far easier. Honestly once you know how to play it I think Bayou Billy is a lot of fun!

I owned this game as a kid. I don't think I ever made it past the first driving stage. I know I've watched this TAS at least 5 times, just to watch the game get power-rekt.

How is it possible to shoot without using any bullets?

If you hit an enemy during the shooting segment, you don’t lose a bullet. You only lose bullets when you miss.

No, he just isn’t missing. If you hit an enemy, you don’t lose a bullet.

@@timhendrix414 If you let number of bullets reach zero, it is an instant death since you can't attack anymore, as far as I could remember.

@@tduyduc i mean, why not leave more bullets left? I know 0 bullets is instant death, but why just leave one everytime? Maybe he’s just showing of? 😂

@@timhendrix414 Yes, for showing off. Because it is a TAS, the player is able to push everything to the limit. Furthermore, it could save time at the end of the level when remaining bullets are counted and added to player score.
