i never understood why the background was the way it was ? is there a canon explanation for this ?

@@ianb3515 I searched and couldn't find an answer. In terms of canon that is. But a technical reason why the background gets dark when picking True Ogre is because he's the most 'detailed' character with so many polygons. Apparently the machine couldn't handle it, so the background would be removed to save space. Or something along those lines.

It is my understanding that they had to hide the stage backgrounds or the game would slow down massively. True Ogre's model is very big and that's why! That said, the darkness adds to the mood!

Tekken 3 didn't have 3D background. All the background was 2D with some scrolling.

@@electric_boogaloo496 I know, but if the game still tried to load those JPEGS (or whatever image files they were) and Ogre's model all at once, it would have been a bad time for the system.

@@TheOneandOnlyCRMartin If you have the Japanese version and a GameShark you can try this code to get rid of the True Ogre darkness: 800B0F38 0000 The guy who created the code said the game "doesn't slow down noticeably." But of course, only the arcade version of Tekken 3 used 3D backgrounds...

I would still take Tekken 3 over Tekken 7. Anything beats that game when you see what goes on in every Tekken game vs 7. Tekken 7 is in its own lane.

That was one of True Ogre's best moved in 3/tag 1. It was unsafe on block but the damage that he could get if it landed as a CH was huge and it was also often used as a combo ender due to it hitting otg.

I mean, Paul did technically defeated Ogre in the first round at least, so that probably means he was weakened up by that point; giving Jin the opportunity to kill him

He has the genes of Kazuya and Jun, plus he was trained by Heihachi. Also, Paul softened him up for Jin to finish off.

@@legendarystormmartialartsg3573 what? you mean the story of Tekken 3 was where Heihachi hosted a tournament where challengers would meet up in random places while he went on an investigation to search for and assassinate Ogre after finding out he had wreaked havoc as shown in the Tekken 3 intro, THEN had plans to assassinate Jin as he used him to partake in the tournament, and by the end it was Paul who fought Heihachi then Ancient Ogre, then eventually lost against True Ogre but then JIN steps in and beats True Ogre then gets betrayed by Heihachi then turns into Devil Jin and flies off into the moonlight leading up the events of Tekken 4?! huuuuuh?!

It could just be that given what we know, Ogre was defeated by Paul Phoenix and then killed in his True Ogre form by Jin Kazama back in Tekken 3. As for Tekken 5's Devil Within mode, it's unknown if said mode is canon or not but it tends to be regarded by many fans as noncanon.

태그 1에서 있는 신기술이야 딱 하나 횡 RK 하단기 추가 된거 외로는 없어요. 🧐🧐

일부러 고의 KO 노리라는 식으로도 할 수 있는게 TAS입니다. 저는 퍼펙을 노릴려고 하는 건 아닌데, 유저들이 그런거에 더 집중하니 그게 아쉽더라고요. 🥺 실패한다고 한다면 진짜 고의 미스 아니면 없어요 TAS는 타임머신 자체로 움직인다고 생각하시면 됩니다!
