We know that any power module above 100 watts is a good bass so the ideal is to leave the equalizer in flat in the case all the knobs marking half a day or 12 hours so we will not force the woffer of gravo to the extreme and even then we will have a good will depend on the response your box will provide.

A complete 2.1 TAS5630 amplifier with case and controls goes for less than $50 USD with free shipping these days via AliExpress. Add a generic 48VDC 10+A SMPS and you're in business! I'm upgrading my old 2.1 TAS5613 amp with a TPA3255 board I got for about $32 with free shipping -- all I have to do is replace its very tall 1000mFd 80VDC filter capacitor with a much smaller 63VDC part and the new board will slide right into the old case.

Hi, can someone help me. I got this amp broken. I think that I installed gnd and input signal wrong way and now it's only makes humming noise. I have some soldering skils so mayby I can change some parts to get this amp working again.

Find an old computer, take the power supply. Or buy a cheap one. It'll give you 12V and *plenty* of amps to upconvert. My 750w Bronze PSU gives me four 18A rails + some lower voltage rails at 20A. You can get plenty of clean power if you stay at 12V, too. Especially higher-end gaming PSUs, I'd imagine.

I wish you had measured the actual output power going into the speaker. Currently we don't know how much power have you fed to the speakers. Oh and an opamp having gain bandwidth at 180 MHz?! I'm not sure if I'd want to use that in audio systems....

Hi, I have a TAS5630 in 2.1 ( 300 + 150 +150 ) with a power suply of 500W 10A 48v but after 4h of non stop music ( volume at 80% ) the amp stop: is it a the power suply which is too little ? i turn of the amp and turn on and it's ok for around 30 min. But this amp is really really great, the sub is a Focal KX38 with 500W RMS.

If you take 600 watts of power from this amplifier, as stated in the datasheet, the microchip from the current of the foot will burn off. Read physics and Ohm's law.

Vladvladov17777 Danilkin There are other problems with this whole thing, mostly the fact that the chip manufacturer itself claims 600 watts at 10% THD level, which is WAY too much (even for a subwoofer).

Oh boy, its a class-d amp with about 90% efficiency. Roughly 60w at full power will go into heat which is acceptable - with a fan it wont be a problem at all :D

I was planning to buy 48v 12.5A for 600W to power TPA3255 or TAS5630, both 300W x 2... So then I just need to buy 12V 15A and connect in series with my: IN PARALLEL these two: 36V 10A and 36v 7A ???

You need higher section for the power supply cables, to support 20A or more.

20A at 42V would be around 800w rms to the speaker via 95% efficiency of the class d amp and That amp clearly cant handle power above 600w . But you are also right because you need good wireing in amplifiers.

As a technician of 50 years, I immediately went arrghh at the supply set up. Series of several psu is not a great idea as current limited output is likely, never mind the cable sizes. 500W at 8 ohms is about 8 amps rms. Cable is warm but not frying. Test is not great without instruments!

It's true, you westerners have a way to big safety margin. 4 strands of standard house wire (copper) can handle over 15A. The only problem it will be highly inefficient and heat up, but it won't burn or break.

Tyler Hanson Actually the current at the highest possible output level (600 watts) is "only" 12 amps. Since the supply voltage was only 42 volts, I doubt that the power level reached 500 watts even (which would've assumed a current of the maximal 12 amps, but with dropping voltage the current drops as well).

ohh right. its a 2.1 amp right? have you tried speakers and a sub? whats the crossover frequency? do you know any similar ones that will work on AC or something lower voltage DC? I want to integrate it into a subwoofer box, and i want a IEC connector on the back to provide power (AC). Would something like a laptop power supply work?

According to manufacturer spec. witch is Texas Instruments. This chip i 4 channel unit and yes it can have 600 W in PTBL configuration. It means when you make a bridged connection from 4 channels. But not only... You need to have 2 ohm speaker and then it gives this power witch 10% of distortion when 1% is easily noticeable (read unbearable) and this amp has 230W in 4 ohm with this THD(distortion). Single DC 50 V in class D. Amplifier in class D can give 100 watt of continuous music power from double DC 50 V to 4 ohm speaker. This is single 50 V witch is about 20-25W of power...

Tas5630 can give you 400 to 600 watts max in 2 ohms load only but when using 8 ohms it can only give you 185watts rms according to the data sheet. And I already tested it but nut yet on the amp dyno

terrible amplifier, I have a small class d 150watts it does way better than the claimed 600W look at the excursion weak cone travel (don't say its the camera) I have a demo using the camera and some frames picks up the cone travel.
