The 1st recipe, the tomato rice, is amazing. I've been making that for a while now (learned it from Strictly Dumpling) and I also add a few dashes of Old Bay Seasoning to the rice and tomato before cooking. It's one of the recipes I reach for when I have an extra tomato that I don't know what else to do with.

@07kamichamakarin
@07kamichamakarin 5 жыл бұрын
@Tf Oh Firstly, you pour enough water on the rice. Second, press the rice or squeeze it like you have some sort of anger on it. Then drain the water but be careful or you might spill the rice. Repeat that 2 or 3 times to ensure that the rice is clean. After that, pour water for cooking and measure it, in my case (or maybe... in Asian's case), use the mighty middle finger to measure your water. Your finger must be on the rice bed(lol) not on the bottom of the pot. The water must be align with that first line on your middle finger.

@@Medinalegend I think any rice cooker can "cook itself", you don't need to worry about the time (or do?). The only secret is to let it rest for 10 min -ish without opening the lid when it says the rice is ready.

Just 1 tomato? I bake tomato's in butter or oil after de-seeding and de-skinning and then mix the mashed buttertomatoes with rice. So amazing tasting. The second recipe looks so nice. I like the cuttingskills and the nice cooking sounds

For those who are pro- rinsing long grain white rice you bought at the supermarket. You don't need to wash or rinse it first. It isn't necessary and can makes it gluggy. Cook rice in rice cooker or in the microwave using the 1cup rice to 1 & a half cup water method for either one. (Microwave covered on high for 12 minutes) With both methods, let the rice stand for at least 20 minutes or longer. Open lid & use a flat plastic paddle so you don't break the grains and slowly add a dash of water and start to turn the rice gently and continue to add tiny amounts of water as you go along. You will see immediately how it works, just ensure you're only adding the tiniest amount at first and build on it until all the rice is separated and light and fluffy. If you add too much obviously it will go to mush. This method separates the grains perfectly and removes any sticky residue. I've been doing it for years, so I can assure anyone your rice will be perfect if you do that 👌
