He explains what's common between the ICE and the EV, and what differs as well. It's really surprising that these two gentlemen who are highly informed in their field did not ask those questions which a common man would love to do so..For example, the advertised range and what it actually delivers? Why are the fit and finish of Tata products always an issue? Why the customer service is not yet matching with that of its competitors etc. Maybe if they ask these uncomfortable questions, Tata might black list then. Who knows?

@@Tklshriram71 I already have Nexon EV prime since 2y 20k km I get 250km in city and 240km on highway on the lower range model (mine isn’t max) And I drive the limit ie 80kmph because I’m in no mood to pay more for challan than toll and charging combined Regarding 60kmph, I’d get 300kWh he if I wanted to drive at 60kmph on cruise without AC and 270 with AC I’ve tried all sorts of combinations and 80kmph cruise is best for range + travel time, even on ice cars beyond 80 your mileage will reduce due to drag and most of all, unless it’s controlled access expy like Yamuna expy or samriddhi marg you are never safe even at 70-80 because anytime there can be some jaywalker or cattle or slow af bikers on normal NH

Polo GT TSI owner here. Have been driving the polo for last 6-7 years. So spoiled and have high expectations from any car I drive. I test drove the punch ev today - empowered+ LR, and must say I am mighty impressed with it. The obvious EV benefits like punchy motors contribute to this no doubt, but then the surprise was that ride quality and suspensions were extremely pliant. It felt like an extremely well balanced tuning between perf and ride quality for this fairly tall and compact car. The test ride was quite short and I didn't get to drive it very extensively, so I might be speaking too soon. But whatever little I could get, I have come out impressed and interested. So far the Polo with the DSG was the ideal small footprint car for Bengaluru traffic, but this goes a notch higher. If only the salesman was a little less lacklustre, he could have gotten much closer to a cheque. :)

Team, you had a opportunity to ask real questions to Tata leadership but for some reason you didn't ask. 1)Why there's a significant difference between ARAI claimed range and real world range? From the data and real life experience, it's evident that Tata is doing poor in range category compared to Hyundai, MG 2)how is tata going to fix service issues. 3)why tata still not giving decent fast charging options even platform seems to be capable of. There could have been more common issues that you could have asked. Bit disappointed.

1) the same reason as to why ICE car mileage never matches real mileage Kona and MG also give 300-350km only, their WLTP range in Europe is 289km and 262km

They say it is a new platform but charging speeds are still horrible, no one wants to wait for 2 hours on a charging station. 150kW fast charging where? This is a biggest problem in Tata, new gen Nexon now is coming with 7kW onboard charger, people suffered with charging speeds.

I always worry about the warranty coverage conditions. For example: Tata Punch ev comes with 8 years warranty, what does it cover exactly? What if the range falls down to 50% of what is given now after a certain time? Will they replace battery for free or leave us to let scold Tata for the rest of the life. 😢

I have watched his other interviews and about batteries and warranty he told, the benchmark is 80%. That means if it falls below 80% strength, its eligible for warranty within the period. He told, the predicted battery life is 2000 charging cycles, which means approximately 5 lakhs kms in real life range.

Tata is deliberately pricing it's EVs at a premium despite battery pricing hitting all time low to protect its ICE cars sales. They can do so because of lack of options in India's ev car market. Also please ask about battery pre conditioning for charging in cold conditions like 0 to 10 degrees.

Irrespective of the platform, EVs are a bad decision for Indian market. It is like a smartphone on wheels where the car will become scrap within 10 yrs. The batteries become weaker over time and after 8 yrs you need to spend half the price of the car to replace the battery. It is actually more carbon intensive, Americans are giving up on it now. India needs PHEVs to balance the life of car and climate change requirements.
