These are stunning. They look almost like tooled leather. They would look lovely in a bowl full of them or as jewellery, so many possibilities. Thank you for sharing your ideas and techniques.❤

You created your own unique techniques for this which is the most fun and the most *rare* in tutorials. The clay + dark patina looks good but then the clay +dark patina +white clay paste looks AMAZING. It’s those organic details that I love, makes the clay look less plastic.

You have activated my imagination, so thank you.I love this idea which can be use on other projects as well. Depending on the background colour, using gold, silver or bronze to highlight the pattern design would be effective also. I have heard if using Kato translucent liquid clay and you bake your project, finish off after being in oven by using your heat gun. It produces a higher temperature that really makes the gloss shine even more than the oven. Kato's TLC has been designed that way apparently to take a higher heat. I previously saw a video on this technique. I thik it was from Donna Kato. This design would look lovely on maple leaves. Whateve leaf used, fine two near identical smaller leaves which could be used for earrings.
@pavlacepelikova
@pavlacepelikova 11 ай бұрын
You are right, Kato is designed for higher temp. (150C) but I used as a base premo, which is not, and I personaly like satin (more natural) look on leaves, than glossy look. But if you love glossy, go with heat gun of course, because there is no rule, there are only options we can select, and love :-)

Great tutorial Pavla! Ran out and grabbed some leaves, made up some blends, ran through pasta machine, ready to go! Scrounging around the house looking for a small clear glass dish, no luck so far. Found a large spoon, might try that on the first one but would love to find the clear glass so I can see through the other side. Off to Google to search!

Honestly I do not know, I have only this one, a year waiting in my studio :-D . But some acrylics are surprisingly well working this way with alcohol (spirit) , but inc case of acrylics, they are very different brand by brand (density, pigment quality..) so this is a space for experiments. I have El Greco heavy body acrylics (but I bought them for painting, and use them with clay because I have them :-), they work nicely with silk screen; just saying. But most of my work is clay only techniques to avoid these shopping issues- where to buy, what to use instead in different countries... especially after covid is lots of stuff unavailable - something is only in EU, something in USA/Australia... very hard to advice my students sometimes :-)

I am in love with these tattoo leaves and thank you so much for sharing your creative process 😁. I do have a question regarding the patina, can you not get the same effect if one applies it to baked clay? It just seems it would be safer so as not to lose the imprint while removing with the alcohol. I expect you have decided on the raw clay method for a reason and I mean no disrespect I am just curious as to what the difference is?
@pavlacepelikova
@pavlacepelikova 7 ай бұрын
No, because of the backfilling :-)

Have no pasta machine. Then what to do?
@pavlacepelikova
@pavlacepelikova 11 ай бұрын
To be honest, it is very hard to achieve nice resuts without pasta machine, it is an esential tool . You can try just flat the clay by rod, and use rod for imprint as well. It is possible, but less easy, the thickness od the clay should be about 2mm approximaely.
