I have a few tattoos from shops and never used numbing cream because all you gata do is lay there and feel the pain. I use numbing cream when tattooing myself tho because I need to focus on the lines and details and the pain distracts me from that.

@@JayDArtworks ya, I think you should absolutely do another tattoo video, maybe another one on yourself or someone else. Also, maybe you could do a video with the equipment you’re using, people always want to know what someone is using. It looked like you were using an FX Irons Spektra or Xion machine, cartridges and inks you’re using. Just wanted to throw some ideas out there. Anyways, keep up the great content, you’re funny and your videos are fun and I think if you continue to create content and maybe focus in on a specific genre or make some video series that you will see an increase in subscribers. I have an Hibiscus flower and Dolphin on my left thigh above the knee but they did really hurt as much, maybe that my technique has developed over the years. I actually thought you were a bit further South, maybe lower Devonshire from your accent. My Dad (Who brought me up) was from Westbury, conceived in Devonshire and born in New Zealand. Great video! I'm still learning on my tattooing skills... I'm practice on that fucking fake skin.. Not confident enough to start on my leg but with a simple design. maybe one day🤔 question did you started with that expensive rotary machine? I have now one from ali express for 60€ and ask myself always the question is this the right way to learn it proper..
@JayDArtworks
@JayDArtworks 3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, yea the fake skin isn't great but some of the thicker ones aren't too bad but then expensive. No I started with a cheap amazon full tattoo kit. It was a fake dragon hawk that came with X2 machines and absolutely everything to go with it for around £100. I got the rotary about 2 years ago and the difference is massive. I wouldn't go near real skin with a cheap set up. If your dead serious it's worth spending the money on it for sure.

Is it possible to get tattoing in a 1 year time frame , artist my whole life , many different forms , did tat apprentice for few weeks when was younger left said place had bad rep and at time I had zero confidence , during lockdown o got a Chinese kit 3 machines bits pieces fake skins , small research KZfaq and past memory , and already confidently doing decent linework shading techniques , I draw paint my life , so to my tattoo feels very much like painting building up layers from dark to light or opposite , even tho I'm new it feels familiar , also what skins are good to take ink , and can any take white ink , jet black white lines , I was hoping to give portrait style realism a go , faces , details light dark , but humbled with crappy Chinese rubber skins , so for now simple 2d designs mostly black , red blue work , just general input advice I'm from Ireland , and something love to get into asap #no scratcher prepared to learn humbled and evolve , was thinking of getting pig skin from local butcher I tried oranges bananas and the skins o got pretty crappy but what I do is put them in warm water and dish liqued stretch a lil , then dry , using coconut oil to rub and Vaseline , found works best , limited what I can get old-school artist💲😂, at moment I'm really aching to dive into a few hour piece when get right skill equip knowledge , on fake skin , any input help much appreciated tried local most big headed only few artist near me not even double digits ,

I did find the move to human skin quite different and challenging but with 6 years of practice on pig skin and practice skin (reel skin is great buts 3mm thick silicone skins off amazing can be good too if you avoid the thin Chinese skins) I grew a great confidence. I would say every artist is different. But invest in good quality equipment, spend the money if you are serious. And practice on yourself like you're leg and see how you get on. If you struggle, go back to practice skins again. I waited untill I could continuously do a practice skin perfectly before I moved onto real skin. I hope this helps ✌️

Thanks! 😎 Yea 6 years. I had a cheap amazon setup for 4 of those years tho and it wasn't really sutible for real skin. Then 2 year practice with my Xion machine before my first real tattoo.
