Tatum is always inefficient.. He is career 46%fg in the regular season and 44%fg in the playoffs for a 6'9 guy. He will either give you 40 or 14 in a playoff game. So inefficient and inconsistent that's why I think he is overrated..

Nick killed this segment, if Brown hasn’t signed yet he could be considering less money for more control over his situation. Considering how it’s gone with Boston it’s clear they don’t value him as more then a trade piece to make things better for Tatum. If Embiid isn’t going anywhere having 4-5 years of Maxey might be better then 2-3 of Dame but if it’s now or never Brou’s right they gotta make that move now.

Why does everyone assume Jaylen Brown will be in the deal?? Boston didnt want to send him for KD, why do it for Dame? Doesnt make sense… They can legally and realistically make the deal for Dame and still keep JT, JB, and KP together, and they can still make a better offer than Miami without giving up any of those Big 3… An offer of Brogdon, Grant, Rob, (and Kornet + Champ for salary) is a far better return for Portland than Herro, Lowry, and/or Duncan. Plus Boston has more 1st’s and more good 2nd’s available than Miami as well

Sign & trade next year seems the most likely outcome. Similar to how KD left the Warriors. I know we shouldn't count other people's money, but there has to be a value to mental sanity, right? With All-NBA Honors, Brown can sign 5 yrs / $295mil. Cats this offseason are signing 5 yr / $260mil contracts. I know that's a $35mil difference, but once you have that amount of money, isn't there a point where your mental health and living stability matter? I'd love to see him stick it to Boston and just leave, sign a 2+1 and keep smashing those Free Agency contracts

2018 - didn't trade Brown for Kawhi, Kawhi wins in 2019. 2019 - didn't trade Brown for AD, AD wins in 2020. 3rd time's the charm, if the deal's available, they have to just pull the trigger this time before it happens again with Dame in Miami.

@@edelmantoamendola The fact that you think prime is determined by age alone is funny. Both Tatum and Brown have reached their ceiling. Neither are number one options. They are both number two options masquerading as number ones. Both are inconsistent stars. Tatum has a bad game every third game. Brown can't dribble. That's why Tatum is trying to recruit Dame, who is a true number one. The Tatum/Brown duo is stale. Something has to change. The fact that they have reached 3 ECF and one finals and keep failing is not a good sign. It's a terrible sign. Name me another duo who has been failing for 6 years or more together, and eventually won a title. It rarely happens.

An interesting but unspoken element to all this is whether or not Tatum understands that the only way the Celtics are getting Dame is if they trade Jaylen. As a basic onlooker, I think that's obvious, so I'd assume that Tatum knows it too. But if he does know then you have to completely re-contextualize him trying to recruit Dame.

Malcom Brogdon, Grant Williams, Payton Pritchard and one fringe rotation players is enough to trade for Dame financially. Jaylen hasn't been offered in any trade package. Dame trade market is low. Might happen most likely not but hey its possible. Also Jaylen Brown has no reason to be offended by this. Especially since Jayson Tatum has been the biggest advocate for a Jaylen Supermax extension.

The Celtics aren't going to trade Brown for Lillard. It wouldn't be a significant enough upgrade to make sense. Brown is an All-NBA player who plays great defense, and he's like 6 years younger than Dame. I've been saying all week that if the Celtics traded for Dame, it would be centered around Brogdon, Rob Williams, etc. and picks. Others are saying that now as well.

I think one of the issues that nobody is touching in with Philly is, does Dame want to play on a Philly roster without Maxey? If I'm Dame there's no way in he** I'm coming there without Maxey. Joel plays about as much as Anthony Davis and has a history of shrinking in the playoffs. Dame/Joel and a few spare parts is not enough to get them past a healthy Milwaukee or focused Boston.

Anyone who actually watches the games knows tyrese maxey is one of the most underrated players in the league. He’s behind harden and Joel in usage and look what he does. I think the kid is a superstar. He would be a really good number 2
