Great video , My father in law who spent 35 years in the military is now 90 and a little frail although he loves to shoot . 9mm and up has been almost impossible for him the last few years . I’ve heard nothing but good things about the TX 22 , went and picked up 2 today so we can shoot together . Subscribed and keep up the good work!

I've had mine for over a year. I modified 4 magazines with the 21 round Tandemcross magazine extensions. I also put in the Tandemcross Eagle Talon extractor, the Victory trigger. Also put in the Galloway stainless steel guide rod with the 10% spring as I often shoot sub sonic ammo. Never had a feed problem with any ammo so far. Probably run around 7K rounds through it. Best 22 pistol I've owned so far. Highly recommended. Good job Taurus.

i just got one, great vid btw, i had no problems dor maybe 100 rounds then the failures to feed started. i used the icluded mag loader and the buttons on the mags. about 575 rds and had alot of ftf. read online to load the mags with no assist and it gets better alson to load them and leave them fully loaded for a while. after one or two days fully loaded i cycled the action and had a few ftf but seemed better loadeing no assist. i like the pistol just hope the ftf get better.

After watching numerous videos, I purchased my first TX 22 from my local gun shop. After I sold my Colt Huntsman more than 30 years ago, I knew I had made a big mistake. This will get me back to practicing and some good experience wiith a quality 22 LR handgun. I love the full size hand grip and the quality of the TX 22.

I just bought one myself 2 days ago at the local Academy Sports and took it to the range today without bothering to do an initial clean and lube. All I did do was check the barrel to make sure it wasn't full of grease. I used Winchester ammo and it ate it like a starving man with a steak. Only had one misfire out of 100 rounds or so and that shell fired the second time after I put it back in the chamber. I made sure to break it down and clean it once I returned home though. Which I will add is a LOT easier to do compared to the Walther P22 I also have. I will say too that once I use up all of the Winchester ammo I have I plan on only using CCI in my TX.

I have a tx22 competition with 1443 rounds (I use an app to track it) it will jam occasionally when dirty from shooting, but it is way more reliable now I got a little bit of rounds through it. From the videos I see looks like the regular tx22 is more reliable. Oh and the mag cutout lets you make sure they are loaded well to reduce chances of rim lock

The taurus is so easy to load once you get the trick the first 3 a little tuff but after that you fly through it and one good tap on the magazines base plate and the rounds line up its been my go to 22lr for four years it's light its a real striker fired pistols not a mess of moving parts breaks down easy a light cleaning and very little lube and all I've ever had ammo wise where light casings and if I put them back in they almost always go off this is #1 for me out of four other decent 22s my ruger sr22 is 2 I put add ons to the magazine brings it up to 16 as well but the taurus is a full size I changed to optic fiber sights same set up basically but the new adjustable and I can't miss and I'm no where near even and intemediate.

IMO, the answer is Yes the TX22 is a very good 22LR Gun and worth the price you will pay for this gunBUT so will one of it's Rivals, The Kel-Tec P17, and from what I have read about these two guns, the research I have done and my personal experience with One of these Guns, I can say, you will not be sorry whichever one you choose! In my whole shooting life, I have tried Both these Companies in my past But I have had Issues with both and decided to stay away from them for many years! Having said this, I have recently witnessed a strong resurgence of Quality and Reliability from Both Companies, especially with the 22LR Guns! I must say that I purchased a P17 last summer because of the very high prices of Ammo and I have shot over 1000 failure free rounds, right out of the box and was so Impressed, so I purchased another one four months later! They both have been failure free for me But I have not tried the TX22 as of yet and I'm quite sure that It is a Very Good 22LR gun just like the P17. Good luck with whichever one you choose!

I had a classic Luger .22 and the magazine on that was never an issue. I could slap the bullets in there and never even thought about it. They fell inline and never had issues chambering. I love my TX .22, but the magazines are finicky. I have to shake them and get them just right or it jams. I wish these were as trouble free as the Luger mags.

Purchased one about 2 weeks ago and I didn't have as much luck with it as you have. In 100 rounds i had multiple failures to eject and towards the end of the 100 rounds my shots were becoming very inaccurate. Got home, tried cleaning it up a bit and saw a ton of lead built up inside the barrel. Looked it up online and found that extreme lead fouling was a common problem with TX22 barrels. Had to send it back for a barrel replacement.

I bought a TX22 and fired 1,300 rounds through it so far and haven't cleaned it. It had one misfire and no other malfunctions. The round has a good solid strike on it but didn't go off. I turned it a bit, reloaded and fired and still didn't go off. Again with a solid strike on it. So it's the ammo. And btw, this is exactly why it's not a good idea to carry a 22lr for EDC unless that's the only thing you got. It's a fact that rimfire is less reliable than centerfire.

One has glock sites and the older model has sites compatible with the T 22. I have the older model. which I like cause you should be able train with a red dot on your tx 22 and then switch the red dot to the G3

My experience, Stay away from FLAT TIP ammo. It will jam trying to feed more often than not. Winchester ammo in general is junk. Federal punch is TOO HOT!! Do not use punch more than a few times. If you try punch suppressed, it will short stroke, not pick up a round properly and drag that round forward enough to sometimes jam or pick it up, then slam it too quickly forward an it fly off the ramp. My first gen tx22 had over 5k through it and i had no mag issues, any way i loaded it. Only issue, the sights....junk.

this is a good range gun. with ammo costs through the roof, shooting a 9, 40 and 45 ammo at the range can cost you a couple hundred bucks. with this 22 you can have fun and get your aim down for a quarter of the cost which means you can go to the range more, and take a 22 rifle with you to change it up and still keep the costs low. my 30/30 lever action rifle ammo is about $1.50 per shot now days, makes for expensive days at the range.

Bought mine a week ago because of a local deal, but so far I am not impressed. I can see all the places where quality was sacrificed to keep the cost down. For starters, the plastic adjustable sights are terrible, mine broke just trying to adjust the windage for the first time. Second, the barrel. My standard procedure for any new gun is to break it down and get in a good cleaning and lubrication before taking to the range, but this barrel is absolute garbage, the rifling is almost nonexistent and there are marks around the inside diameter that looks like machining chatter. Next is the mags, I like the capacity but I don't have much faith in mags with plastic feed lips, they are destined to wear out prematurely and at 25 bucks a mag that is a big bummer. I have a huge stockpile of Remington golden bullets 36 gr HP (got them when the 100 packs were just $2.70 each) and they don't feed, constantly jam either against the front lip of the mag or while riding up the feed ramp of the barrel. I heard these guns run anything with the occasional exception for bullets like this or Winchester. Also, im not sure why Taurus chose to have a 1/10 twist rate barrel in their compact and competition model but a 1/16 twist rate barrel in the full size. Seems like the 1/10 would be the better option so I am glad Lakeside offers a match grade barrel made from a higher quality steel alloy with a 1/14 twist rate. Bit spend but I might have to get it to improve accuracy and prevent keyholing targets. Taurus doesn't even specify what alloy this barrel is made from. But at just under $50 for a replacement barrel, I'm not convinced it is of quality. Now the pros, it isn't all bad. For the cost you get a very ergonomic high capacity linking pistol with a good source for aftermarket parts (which will be needed for my example to make this cheap deal a decent and fun to shoot gun.). The factory trigger is impressive for what it it is. Had a little bit of mush and gritty less out of the box but I got it cleaned up and running smooth. Tandem Kross offers a lot of nice upgrades including an adjustable flat trigger kit. I bought this gun because it was cheap, but now I feel a bit burnt that I'll have to invest into some parts to bring up the quality and performance to the point I could have just bought a Sig or Beretta and had quality out of the box. Although the Berreta is good quality, the parts for the M9 22 have been discontinued, so that is a non-starter.

If you figure in ammo costs, you are saving. Firing 300 CCI Minimags 35 bucks with tax.

Everybody always dogs on the .22 you know I have killed more things with my bb gun then any of my actual guns. A single .22 round is enough to stop all but the craziest of people.

Are they as good as they say? No! Inconsistent. Mine won't even feed CCI mini-mags - go figure. Very frustrating at the range. I've tried all the magazine tricks on KZfaq and no go. I know I will trade it down the road. I don't like guns I can't count on to go bang every time I pull the trigger. Even if you rent one and it works great, there is no guarantee whatsoever your new one will work.

My TX22 jams sometimes 5 times per magazine, on all different kinds of ammo, it's pure garbage. Taurus wanted me to pay to have it shipped to them. I'll never buy another Taurus.

WHY does EVERYONE shoot steel with a .22? Hitting 6 or 8 inch steel is WORTHLESS with a .22 ------ if you're using it for self defense you gotta hit the correct target. If you're using it as a survival gun you gotta hit the target. Paint a squirrel on your steel and show us how far away you can hit it 10 out of 10 times, you know to put meat in the pot! Not trying to be an ass I just would like some real-world info to go on.

I was shooting steel yesterday, with my new Ruger LCP II, .22 pistol, at 25 yards. My Taurus TX22 is much more accurate and easier to shoot. I like shooting steel because it's fun and I don't have to keep buying targets. If I want to hunt squirrels I use a .22 rifle. I'm not able to post a picture on here to show you but my steel is 8X12 inches and there is nowhere on it you can draw a squirrel that it wouldn't have been hit, although full disclosure, some rounds might have hit the tail, but again, that was with my micro .22 Ruger LCP II!
