Honestly the time it took to build the motor isn't anything special. They had all the parts ready, so for it to take a week they worked business as usual i'd say. Granted that's from my own experience of replacing the 5.7l hemi in a Durango, that took a week as well and I don't work in any garage plus I only had time to work on it after I got home from work.

Man it’s amazing how the core concepts and ethics of this great adventure, spill over to every pursuit of ‘beyond good’. In the kitchen at work last night I was finishing up on mis en place when train wrecks were starting to happen. We had received some recipes from ‘corporate’ and they were basically, fundamentally wrong. We kept our cooler heads intact and got it all solved before service began. The benefits of experience plus a strong knowledge base and solid work ethic, kicked it in the ass. This was an amazing car story with an incredible cast of characters!

@@Shawn-Leider I mean, it was also circumstance, I’m a pilot for a living so I’m always around aviation anyway and when I found my dream airplane sat abandoned in a field in France I knew now was my time.

I am so happy for you dude! That is one hell of a car you "built" and you have every reason to be as proud as you appear in this video. Some high praise from Jay Leno, the man, the myth, the legend, as well! Kudos. Enjoy the heck out of that car.

Freddy, I am so glad someone with your mechanical ability says the same thing I say all the time. I am so glad I don't repair cars for a living!!! I see KZfaqrs do a job in five minutes and say "It's not a very difficult repair" and then it takes me four hours to do it and I have grease up to my armpits! God bless you for being so honest! At least it didn't make a picture window in the block. LOL That wing automatically standing up at high speed cracks me up! Jay Leno is my Motorhead Hero. He has a stable of the finest motorcars that is second to none, yet he is so humble about it.

Like with most things, it's usually not too hard IF you know what you are doing AND have the right tools / funds available. For others, it might as well be magic. I know how to drive a car, but don't ask me to repair and/or change anything on it. I don't know how and I am not interested in knowing how to either. On my bicycles however, I can and I will. Then again, I love this channel, and Mat's (through which I found this one). And it is not the cars that keep me watching, it's the enthusiasm for doing this stuff these people display. Keep it up. Re-use, repair etc. 👍
