Para sa akin, it's not only about the amount of taxes you pay pero saan napupunta ang taxes. I'm watching this from the hospital kasi naka confine husband ko. Walang worries kasi lalabas na lang kami and magpapasalamat sa mababait na staff. This morning and tonight when I drive home, imbis na 10 minute drive, may extra 5 minute detour kasi inaayos ang kalsada. Ganun din pag papasok ako sa office once a week, doing a job na tumutulong sa public. Isa sa pinakamataas ang cost of living yung city where I'm from. Umaaray ba ako? Yes. Lalo na comparing prices when I first moved here, pre-pandemic and now. Nagrereklamo? No. It is what it is. There's so much to be thankful for and appreciate, and as much as I love the Philippines, I am grateful to call Canada home --- taxes, cost of living and all.

Canada has its own way like the rest of the world. Although that’s one of the many complaints amongst my friends here. There’s pros and cons everywhere. I ❤ Canada and appreciates the Philippines too. Nothing is perfect. And that’s okay. 😊🇨🇦

I am here also at Canada, i got interested to listen kasi very informative din mga subjects nyo..With regards to our country tax, when it comes to hospitalization, i think so far its improving a lot...kasi my father po had his operation early last year to his kidney due of his kidney stone, i believe our government/ public hospital is doing great NKTI im so thankful because zero po ang bill nya, only few pesos like 2k ang pay nya for the face mask, pillows etc..and after that clear na ang bill and go home and another one for his cataract lazer operation in PGH upcoming for the couple of months, good thing covered din naman ng PHILHEALTH, thank God it will lessen all the expenses..So far i believe our country is much much better than before..

prior to TRAIN law (implemented during Duterte admin), Managers employed in ROHQs can enjoy preferential tax rate of 15%. Laki ng tax savings in comparison to the 30-33% for those earning at the top tax bracket.

i think paying taxes is inevitable to those countries who has taxes regulation, but bottomline is value for your money, what are the benefits return to the people and to the community, kararating ko lang dito sa canada as tourist but ramdam ko ang magandang result ng taxes na binabayad ninyo dito sa canada, ang ganda ganda ng mga higways, kahit madaming sasakyan, moving ang traffic, may speed limit talaga sa highways at sa community road at may mga nakabantay na mga opp police to monitor the speed at mag overspeed mga driver talagang hahabulin sila, ang gaganda ng surrounding kasi well maintain ang landscape ng paligid ang gaganda ng mga trees at flowers, streetlights, even sa mga bahay dito ang lilinis talaga ng paligid, walang polution ako nalalanghap kahit mag walking lang sa daan within community, the parks are well- maintained, doon palang malalaman at ramdam mo na maayos ang pag alaga nila ng taxes na binabayaran ninyo dito, on top yong healthcare, education, child-care benefit, infrastructures and other benefits ninyo dito, mas lamang kayo dito sa canada... wala naman perfect na country at perfect na taxes, kung tao nga walang perfecto, pero importante inuuna ang community bago ang bulsa😅 at dito pag may e refund ang govt or ibbgay ang govt talagang pasok kaagad sa bank account u eh.. In general i like canada❤ Cost of living in any country is getting high bcz of so many factors that affect the countries and the world, nasa tao nalang paano mag adjust sa expenses at luho nila para makaipon! yep mura ang electric at hydro dito, may carbon tax rebate nga dito eh😀

Being a tourist and being a long term resident result in different points of view. Go live in Canada for ten years and see how it really is. All you see right now is superficial and full of assumptions especially when you mention healthcare and crime (how serious criminals are punished) and how taxes are spent. A good example is the Wastewater plant in North Vancouver. That project ballooned from $1 billion to $4 billion with no explanation and the Contractor was fired while the jobs of top Gov't employees that were responsible for that project were spared. These are things a tourist won't see and experience

@@jjbalsicas7394 Meh. You have the typical Filipino servitude attitude that takes whatever is given to them. I went to High School and University in Canada and one thing they taught me was to analyze and question things instead of being stupidly accepting and settling for less. I have the right being a Canadian to question the system because it's a Democracy. Get this in your head - questioning and analyzing is not being negative or ungrateful. There are many issues in Canada and many long term residents are aware of those issues such as the overburdened Healthcare and housing crisis which is getting worse with so many immigrants arriving each year. Canada shaped how I think and it's hilarious how you're mocking me for the way I view things.

Ms Ina, most of the basic items sa groceries are non-taxable. If you check the receipt, you will see that the tax amount is not the 13% of the amount of the items. Sa Pinas, most commodities are subject to VAT. may mga mga Non-Vatable lang like produce/agri-products and reflected in the receipt as NV.

I think Property tax is only tax deductible if the property is rented out and you are declaring rental income in your income tax

True but can also be deducted if you are using your home or part of it to conduct a business or earn income. The area must be dedicated for business use - can't be your kitchen table.

I think the education system in the philippines is not that worst, as for my understanding kaya sinsabing poor education tayo base on PISA ay dahil late tayo sumali sa PISA for international, before kasi were test our education level sa mga pilipino students only. NOToutside the country... But now were now join in that PISA. So therfore Its a matter of time frame on when we join in the PISA. But now were improving much compare to other country. Thats my opinion on that matter..but maybe im just wrong..

those at the private schools and tops schools, okay ang comprehension and learning nila, but sad to say it’s not the same for the majority especially those from public schools. May pumapasa kahit hinde man lana marunong magbasa. Marami na documentaries about it and bakit sila pinapasa ng mga teachers nila. Stats don’t lie.

And Pinoy newcomers keep saying Canuck edu is free. There's no such thing as free my friends - the tax is the highest if you do 'all' the math & it's way more expensive than any Ph school. Just wait. Bombet, omg analyse a bit buddy. The top Ph schools (15 to 16yo) is behind typical Can schools (any school in Can can take the top spot - there's no runaway train like Ph) from Ab Sask Bc etc. Gr 12 : in Can you need 80% to 90% plus average for Uni or College. In Ph all you need is 50% & you're good to go. The old timers think it's 75% but it's really 50%, just a corrupt figure that takes too long to explain. Ask around, Rice's kids, there are now Can students 90% plus ave that can't move on to Unis/Colleges. WE ARE ALL THE SAME. The problem is the edu system (i've explained many times over before) in Ph is way way more corrupt than Can's or are doing it Ph style. As per result/report, "Pinoy Ph grads have the lowest IQ in SE Asia." whilst Pinoy US / Can grads (those who grew up here) are on par with the world's highest. Years ago all you need in Ph is 50% at 15-16yo (4th year hs or gr 10 around the world) then on to uni = wayyy tooo loww. And some are getting away as professionals here = unfair big time. A word of advice : bring them here young bec if they go straight to Uni/College then they've missed a lot etc. & maybe it shows. As my UP top notcher cuz who is now a prez of ahem in usa said "don't bother, it's like going against a tidal wave".

No, even in Canada, income taxes are withheld at source/by the company. unless you own a company or you’re a contractor. Knowleagble po si guest, the only thing, matagal na sya wala sa Pinas, kaya of course di na nya alam ang mga recent updates. If company/contractor, here in CA, you can claim deductables/expenses. In terms of medical exp and med insurance, here in CA deductable sya kahit individual tax payer, sa Pinas hinde. Taxes in both countries are uaing graduated tax rates, kaya the higher the income, the higher the tax. Sa case in Sir, nasa top bracket sya ng income sa Pinas and top bracker here in Canada, kaya almost the same lang tax, kc top tax rates are at 30% plus.
