This is one of the all-time best guitars. I love how easy it is to play, how balanced it's tone is, and just overall how much it loves anything you want to play on it. This is the guitar I recommend to everyone who just wants a fun guitar to own. Great review by the way!

+Joel Crow I couldn't agree more. I own an 04 model (the last year of USA production) and I find it to be not just an all around great guitar but an excellent recording tool in that the 15/16 body has less of a tendency to "boom" in front of a mic when you dig in. I like the quarterly "Wood & Steel" mag very much too...guitar porn for the bathroom publications showcase!

Hello, I'm new to guitars. Does this guitar have to be plugged into an amp to sound great or not?
@joelcrow
@joelcrow 2 жыл бұрын
@@christtv3576 Honestly, I'd never plug this in, it would always just be acoustic. You should buy the Big Baby (non E version) unless you actually want to plus it in...which is fine. Acoustics are not great instruments for plugging in, they create feedback wailing. Just get the regular BBT. :)

@@christtv3576 No, it sounds good as an acoustic. It comes with a pickup so you can control the sound plugging it in. That's what the E means after (Big Baby Taylor)-E

In the Taylor Vs. Martin debate? I'm a Taylor guy. I think their line looks better. Taylor Guitars have a modern yet classic look. I prefer their satin finish to the high gloss you see on most new guitars. It's the cats meow for sure. Plus I like the bright tone you get with Taylor more ring less thud. Nanoweb Light strings on a Taylor? Man!! Don't get me wrong Martin's are great guitars I've played them just never had a desire to buy one. Every Taylor I've played even the small Baby impressed me. Big Baby is the perfect everyday banger. If a jam session breaks out anywhere you will not be out gunned. This is my acoustic starting line up: Gibson's Taylor's Some older Guild models. Honorable mention: Some Vintage Celebrity Ovations 70's thru 90's

Does anyone know if Taylor will be developing something like that or does Yamaha have a patent? I've been out of the loop for sometime.

I understand this would be great for someone looking for a bright guitar, for the type of light sounding music played here. But I'm lost in finding a guitar with a beefy tone for under 1000. For my heavy handed fingerstyle style the cheap Washburn dreadnoughts work well in terms of kicking out a meaty dynamic but I wish I knew what would be a step up from that in the intermediate price range. Idk if it's the mic but this sounds like it's missing a lot of what I love in a guitar at the same time as it adds a beautiful top end. These lush top harmonics with a beefy low end that copes with heavy fingerstyle would be utopia for me.. does it exist?? Without financial suicide 😄

Great review brother. Man from the Philippines here.. How's the playability? Is it a high action guitar like Yamaha fg700s and F310? Thanks sir!

+Glen Juego not sure if you still wanna know the answer, but I played this at a guitar center a few months ago and the action is pretty low. It was very comfortable and you dont have to push down too hard.
