Taylor Lautner discussed his post-"Twilight" saga struggles with body image during a recent episode of his and wife Tay Lautner's podcast "The Squeeze," and he told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Jason Kennedy more in an exclusive interview. "It was tough when you start putting on a little weight and don't look like you did in this huge franchise when you were 17 and cut," he said. "It was embarrassing seeing all the photos and having people trash you, but it also made me feel kind of guilty, having so many people tell me how inspiring I was to them and looking at myself in the mirror and not looking like that anymore." New episodes of "The Squeeze" drop Wednesdays on all podcast platforms.

Props to him for speaking out. Male EDs and body image problems are just as serious as females who struggle with them. In fact, studies show men are struggling with those things more now than ever.

Honestly, I think he's severely underrated. He's a very good actor and I think just that huge Twilight shadow really held Hollywood back from giving him the roles he really deserved.

Agreed. My daughter and I were talking about how he is the most natural of the leads in the Twilight Saga, and he was the youngest. Crazy athletic too.

Fitness experts said he was in single digits of body fat percentage. That’s hard to keep. I’m proud of him now. He looks the closest to his young self that he ever has in the last few years.

A huge part of what made him “all that” was the fact that he was also A-List at the time. There’s many good looking actors that would be considered “all-that” but because there not all of the media and in every current block buster movie they don’t get recognized in that kind of light. Channing Tatum did a interview once saying he didint care about being known as the “hottest guy on earth” at the time (this was back in the day when he first blew up with Magic Mike) because he knew it was just a phase and as soon as the next young good looking guy lands a big role in a blockbuster movie he’ll be the new “all that” guy , and he was right 🤷🏽‍♂️😂

What am I missing? This dude looks almost exactly the same as he did back in the day!!!! What is this nonsense of people talking about his looks and his aging and blah blah blah? He's good looking still. I'm so confused 😐

I know. If he is an example not looking good anymore, god help the rest of us. He's still as handsome and still youthful. Just because someone does not look exactly as they did as a teenager, does not mean they look worse or old. Most men would hope to look like he does. If I were a man, I know I would.

Some people on here saying that Taylor is Lazy, and wont stay in shape. You are the part of the problem! He just got a little older, and put on a few pounds, and some idiots on social media slayed him for it. That's really insensitive, and lacking compassion. He shouldn't be harrassed just because he gained a little weight. We ALL do as we age! And it's also unrealistic for some of those mean Fans to expect him to have wash-board Abs Forever. He's still a good looking Dude, even with a few extra LBs........

I don't understand why people hold him to this standard. Why does he HAVE to stay so muscular? It's not up to anyone but him how much he wants to work out. And he's also healthy as he is so it's not a threat to his health. The hate doesn't make any sense.

Can’t agree with this enough. As a male who has hit the gym consistently for the last 10 years. Let me tell you, you always believe that you can look better and think that once you get to a certain standard, that you will be content. But you never reach that standard and every standard that you reach, becomes your new normal, which sets you up for body issues because you feel that all your value comes from looking a certain way, which sets you up for feeling like a failure on the weeks that you might only go twice, and your mind will convince you that you’re wasting away.

He seems like a nice guy. Looks great, but something is holding him back. Even getting married didn't fix the problem. I think his career might have tanked because his interview personality doesn't have an edge to it or doesn't come across as having enough depth or not being genuine or interesting enough. His interviews always seem awkward, empty and simply seem to fall flat. Makes me wonder if he was sexually assaulted as a child star and if he has buried his true self deep within himself to protect himself. He should consider going to therapy and digging deep to find out if he is hiding his true self and how he can express himself more genuinely in interviews. Something is up and my guess is that producers picked up on it and as a result stopped hiring him for acting roles. Maybe he is trying to resuscitate his acting career through this podcast business. Hope he reaches his goals whatever they are.

@@vminhope3040 First, I would like to say that as a younger start, he was considered a heartthrob. We have heard so many stories of male artists, performers and actors about the sexual abuse they experienced. Why would anyone have reason to believe that he escaped those powerful men in the business. I cannot remember the interviews off hand, but in the interviews with his two main costars from that vampire series, he seems uncomfortable and detached from the trio in some way.

Body dysmorphia, body shaming, really?!?! Other celebrities that are twice as his age like Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth are in better shape than he was when he was 19. And they are full-on actors yet they still manage those bodies. Sounds like he's lazy as hell to me. If you're lazy don't come up with some nonsense.
