Her soul? Easy … You’re On Your Own, Kid, Mastermind, and Dear Reader. I truly believe Midnights is the most personal and self reflective album she has ever written about herself. A lot of her albums are about her in relationships (romantic, friendships, her fans, or business), or how how they made her feel. This is the first one that centers around who she is as a person.

Man, I love midnights so much. And I agree, this album touches my soul. When Calvin, Carmen and I went to the Eras Tour movie, I teared up during You’re on your own, kid. For some reason, seeing that performance hit me hard.

I love Taylor, I've loved her for years, and one thing I can say about her is that she is absolutely a little insane, trust me that woman has never seen a therapist office in her life. She made us do 33 million puzzles for song names. Crazy behavior. But we love her because of it.

Eric’s Challenge: A lot of artist write about love and romantic relationships and things in that sphere, that’s why I think Marjorie is a perfect song for him to listen to because so rarely do we get songs about familial relationships especially one’s grandmother

Here's something that i love about 1989 that i dont think many new fans know so imma share it here: In every album before reputation, taylor put secret messages for every song in the lyrics booklet of her CDs In 1989 specifically, those messages form a whole story. The secret message for Blank Space is "there once was a girl known by everyone and no one"

This is my new favorite crossover experience that I never in my wildest dreams thought would happen, so so so excited that y'all are continuing to look at Taylor's music. As for Eric's challenge, I would suggest in general songs from Folklore and evermore. It was these albums that made me a swiftie, the song writing and story telling (mostly about other people) is next level. If I had to pick just one, I'd say Marjorie because it's one of my favorites and always makes me think of my own grandma I lost at the same age Taylor lost hers.

These music reactions continue to make me happy. They're like a lovely shiny surprise every once in a while. Edit: Oh and i'd love to see a reaction to Exile some time down the road. It wouldn't match Eric's request, but I just remember the first time I heard it I was so drawn in by the story. It'd be cool to see what the boys think of some of the folklore stuff.

never i ever thought u guys gonna react to taylor swift, but this lowkay a win for me😆. i think my tears ricochet (from album folklore) might be perfect candidate for a song from the soul. plus with 1989 taylor's version release being closer, i think the song might explain the situation related to her decision to rerecord album. i recommend to watch folklore: long pond studio sessions since she also explain a little bit about each tracks from her album which is folklore.

The rereleased music is what had made me fall in love with her music again and seeing her thrive, my older sister got me into her when I was like 6 or 7 when fearless came out and then as a teenager I kinda fell off because nothing is cool when your a teenager🙄 then when I was 20 I moved into my first dorm and the roomie in my hall was a huge fan and got me back into it🥺🥰

If you guys do 'Dear John' you have to do 'Would've could've Should've' along side it. The two are about the same relationship but from different points in her life. 'Dear John' being freash from it at 19 and 'Would've Could've Should've' being one of her newest songs where shes looking back at the relationship of DJ and wrote it at 32.

I think 'Nothing New' is a very personal song, but it's not a music video. 'Cardigan' or 'Delicate' are music videos which could show her 'soul'.

From the heart huh. All Too Well 10-minute version is that. Dear John. It could be a good 2 for 1. The emotive in-the-moment Dear John at age 19 juxtaposed with Would’ve Could’ve should’ve , a song written about the same relationship but at age 32 reflecting back as an adult & what she feels about the relationship now. So one song in the present and one sing 13 yrs later reflecting back.

I am digging these reactions. Eric has some interesting insights into music in general and especially movie soundtracks, it’s interesting to hear his thoughts on music meant to be consumed by itself. Even here, where he more or less fell into the “trap” of the song at first.

The vault song song that's coming out (along with 4 others) that will for sure be a more explicit sister to Bank Space is called "Slut!" With quotationmarks and all. So we know that she's being called that slur most likely. That will more directly about what specifically the media said about her
