Funny fact to me is, that Taylor herself never thought someone else would feel a strong relation to this song as she felt it, while writing it. And here we are and "All to well" is one of her most loved songs by fans. It was released as a 5 min version on "Red" and she said it began as a 10 min song and was stripped down for the album. Her fans loved it so much that they kept asking for the 10 min version and so she decided to put it out on her re-recording of "Red". One of the most personal lyrics and therefore a very powerful song.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s current girlfriend is 28. He’s 43. They started dating when she was 25 and he was 40. Taylor is at a more reasonable dating age for him now (she’s 34,) but he’s still pursuing the young ones. Taylor knew.

I left an abusive relationship 5 years ago and this song stopped me in my tracks... the story I heard about how she wrote this is quite incredible Taylor wrote All Too Well while she was still rehearsing for the Speak Now tour. Taylor came to the stage and everyone could tell she had been crying. Everyone knew she had just gone through a bad breakup but the show must go on. She sat at the piano and began to play the opening to All Too Well. She sang bits and pieces of it and the band looked around confused because this was a song they didn't know. Then it dawned on everyone in the room that they didn't know the song because she was writing it right then and there. Slowly, the band began to join in with her. By the time she got to the part where it goes 'you called me up again just to break me like a promise,' Andrea said she was crying and screaming the words. When she was finished, Mama Swift turned to the sound guy and asked if he recorded it and he tearfully said that he did. She kept the song until the Red album because it was still too raw. It started out the 10 minute version but had to cut it down for radio but she mentioned it in another interview when Red came out and the fans wouldn't let it go and she put it in the re-record and it blows my mind. As an aspiring writer just her writing just blows my mind she is an amazing lyricist and it angers me when I hear people say she has no talent 😅 anyways sorry to ramble. The backstory was something I truly appreciated hearing when I was becoming a Swiftie. 🫶🏻

Lovely reaction 🥰 The song was born out of spontaneity and hurt, one day that Taylor came to rehearsel. While on tour with her Speak Now album, back in 2011. She just started singing the song, while her band just sort of joined in, and kept going. Luckily, I think her mom or someone else there recorded it. I can’t remember at the moment. She originally didn’t put this version on her Red album, because it was seen as too long. So she called Liz Rose to help her shorten it, cutting it down to a little over 5 minutes. In an interview she revealed it originally was a 10 minute song, and ever since that she has been asked about it. She released the 10 minute original version, that you just heard, in 2021.

Please consider doing the rock version of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together from her 1989 tour. The reputation tour (don't blame me, I did something bad, etc..) are also great if you haven't checked those out yet, but make sure you get the right versions - there are some versions that are pretty dodgy in terms of quality / syn'c. Sort by views or rating to make sure you don't accidentally get a bad cell phone version. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is about the same relationship as this song (All Too Well) and they are from the same album. The live version is insanely good. Live versions of Taylor Swift are very unique over the studio versions. Its almost a different artist sometimes on some tracks. I don't think you've done anything live yet and her live performances are what takes her from a great songwriter to a legend.

The ones who don't care for Taylor or write her off as a cheesy breakup song pop star, might not want to analyze themselves in order to connect with her lyrics. It's a shame, really. This 10-minute version is the original song and released in 2021 on her album Red (Taylor's Version) which is a re-recording with extra songs of Red ,the album that came out in 2010, and that one includes a shorter version of this song.

I think I gotta give credit to Jake because he is one of the ONLY guys who had a song written about him who openly said that shes within her right as an artist to write what she felt and what she was inspired by. Unlike John Mayer who was a little baby and cried like a baby about it multiple times.
