Guys, it's not Taylor's fault Lana didn't get a verse. Lana reveals in an interview that Taylor actually asked her to sing the entire second verse but Lana was the one who declined. She didn't realise that she was the only other artist featured on the Midnights album, that's why she didn't sing it. In fact, the collab might not even have happened if Taylor wasn't so adamant about Lana being on her album.

The beautiful part about this song is that no one can tell exactly which parts Taylor and Lana are singing. It's that blend that makes it so incredible. It's those feelings being faded, blended, and mirrored that's reflected in the vocals. They blow me away

she's behind taylor most of the time, "snow on the beach 3x hahah~" after the chorus is only lana, and "coming down 4x snow on the beach" in the outro is only taylor, also lana is more present from the 2nd verse to the last chorus

I hate that everyone turned this beautiful piece into a meme/ gave it such harsh criticism. The fact is Taylor is staying on brand by marking these artists as features instead of just using their vocals without giving credit. Taylor is all about crediting artists for their work. So even tho Lana was "back-up" doesn't make her work any less noteworthy

So I’ve just recently became a HUGE fan of Lana Del Ray. I’m old 51 and I’ve been a metalhead all my life. But when I seen Taylor Swift say she believes Lana is the best songwriter of this generation I thought I have to check her out. Now I have always respected Taylor as a performer and songwriter even though I didn’t listen to her music. And of course I’ve heard of Lana before. But when I tell you when I heard the first song from Lana I was floored. I was hypnotized. I had to keep listening for hours. This happened to me with another artist. When I first listened to him I had no idea he had already passed away. I was taken with the first song. So haunting. I knew had he of lived he would have been a HUGE HUGE STAR!! Hid music was ahead of it’s time. He knew how to appeal to white and black people. Even more so than Eminem. Have you guessed? He also had the exact same affect on me as Lana. I’m talking about Lil Peep. Again I don’t listen to pop rap any of that stuff. Though I must admit I’m beginning to lol. Anyway when I watched Taylor’s long video short film about that song that I can’t remember the title to (just recently been diagnosed with ADHD lol). I fell in love with Taylor’s music ❤. So happy Lana collaborated with Taylor. Beautiful song

This was so amazing to read. I live India so I was only aware of pop music and Somehow I found Taylor and I became a swiftie. After I got my own phone I started exploring other artists and pop culture in general. I’ve been a swiftie for 6 years now. In 2019 I discovered a music video of Lana with the weeknd. I had no idea who this singer was (i was in pop sphere) and I literally CRIED after watching that music video. The song, the aesthetic and most importantly her voice!!! I HAD NEVER HEARD anything like that before and After that I watched her other music videos and I realised this is something special and I immediately became a Fan. This was in 2019. Super late ik. But in just short time I became a die heart lana fan. Then I kept following her, Taylor and The Weeknd as my favourite artists. I remember when Taylor first talked about Lana in her woman of the decade speech, I WAS SO SHOCKED and I was so HAPPY. i never thought they would like know each other. Then after that when I found they are friends My hopes for their collaboration went so high. Then finally we got a collaboration on Midnights album. That was the best day of my life. I hope they keep collaborating in future both are really great songwriters. They create and care about their art and they inspire me so much. I’m lucky to experience their music in real time ❤️

I only paid attention to this song because LDR is in this song and hearing her full bodied yet slow drawly vocals, you know the ways she usually sings, in the second verse made me fall in love with this song. The second verse is the reason i listened to this song as much as I did. It's obviously not perfect because her part ends too soon and then you can barely hear her again. But I'm waiting for her to release a good album again, an expression of herself at this point in her life and not as an image she's trying to sell.

That is Watch Hill beach , RI. Most of that video is footage from her mansion there. I've fished in front of that mansion for over 25 years now. Seen her a few times , I just leave her alone. It's amazing how many people come to take a photo of that mansion.

I'm sorry but I just don't really like the version with more Lana. The entire second session, "aurora borealis" part is ruined for me because Lana doesn't emphasize certain words like Taylor does. Not that it's bad, I just don't think it's better than the original.
