She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. Things I found particularly worthy of note in this video are (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers. (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it. (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player. (e) The occasions where Angelina gave silent instructions to the band (f) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine" (g) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand (h) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Great reaction! This would have been a stunning performance for a singer 30 or 40 years old. The fact that she was only 9, well you get it. She is so respectful to the original artists that she covers, yet completely makes the songs her own. To me, this is how the song was meant to be sung. Anyone seeing and hearing this for the first time is blown away. A first reaction often is that this can't possibly be real. The focus then often shifts to it is incredible that Angelina was only 9 years old when she recorded this. I have listened to many other artists, including Screaming Jay Hawkins perform this song and I believe that this version, sung by a nine year old girl is the best of all of them. Been waiting and hoping you would come back to Angelina. She has never ever disappointed me. Gave up on music about twenty years ago . I accidentally stumbled onto a little singer on America's got talent , Jackie Evancho and she got me interested again. Been following her career and I came across Angelina, and between these two ,. They have revived my interest again. I have listened to Angelina probably everyday now for the last several years. Absolutely have fallen in love with her voice.

Angelina wrote an incredibly emotional song called "Million Miles" in memory of her beloved grandfather who had just passed away (at that time). She was 13/14 years old. She recorded it later as her first single for her new label, Republic Records. Do a reaction to the black and white live studio version. It is one of three companion videos. The others are the actual official Republic video music release and a lyrics version. I highly recommend doing a reaction to the lyrics version second. It is the same recording as the official version but has graphics done by her grandmother, a noteworthy Iranian artist. With these videos, she has produced a quite stunning beginning of her career with Republic. Also, the pianist in the live studio video is a very high up Republic executive. Angelina commented that when she was in the studio doing the song she cried throughout the session. You can hear and see the pain she feels for her loss when you watch the live studio set. She said she wanted the song to be for anyone that had such a loss. With consideration to that background to her song, you will get as emotional as she was when she recorded it. Great reaction :-) Angelina was barely nine years old here. This performance will probably go down in time as the greatest performance by a nine year old EVER. This performance will only be more and more known as time passes and Angelina takes off, because we know she will. It's just a matter of time now. Angelina signed with Republic Records in 2020, at the age of 14 and is currently their highest priority new artist. However, the reason WHY Angelina's family went with RR (there had been numerous big companies like Disney trying to sign her before) was the fact that they promised to hold off from promoting her until she's finished school. Republic Records also promised her full artistic freedom. So far we have seen them keeping that promise, as both her two recent originals "Million Miles" and "7th Heaven" were both good enough to hit rhe charts HAD they been promoted. But they weren't. RR know exactly what they have on their hands in her, so they understand that the patience will pay off big time. She's 16 now and will finish high school in a few months. We already know that she's been hard at work on an upcoming album for some time, and many of her fans are very hopeful that she will drop it this spring/summer. She will be doing some touring this summer (I will be seeing her in concert here in Norway on July 10th) and I'm very hopeful that this coincides with the release and that she will perform some of her new material there. But we'll see soon enough. There is a compilation of all 4 with the judges comments and English subtitles that I find most satisfying. They’re short enough to do in one reaction, or you can react to them individually. She entered the Show when she was 7 and turned 8 during the taping of the Show. She sang 4 songs. All 4 are totally different from one another. Other 'angels' will provide you with the particular links. You can see one at a time or there is a video which incorporates all 4 performances. There is an additional video which highlights her last performance and then the announcement of who won the Show. My friend, I don't know how much you know about her personally but as you continue on her journey you will find out how humble, kind, caring and loving she is as a human being.

Angelina, on the spot, gave her the sea green boots, her favorites, that she was wearing and told her to never give up on her dreams, called her a “princess” and that she would always remember her. She has done her own arrangements since she was very young, this song included. Enjoy. Have you listened to the songs she sang when she won Norways Got Talent? She was 7 when it started and then she turned 8. Remember that English is her second language, which she is fluent in of course. She's from. Norway and was influenced primarily by her Grandmother who was also a child prodigy.

Sir, there is a story to this special video. I gathered info from different sources, some of them very reliable. At this point in time Angelina Jordan (AJ) was already a superstar in Scandinavia and I do not joke about this, this is fact, The National Treasure of Norway. TRUE. As we understand it, the studio including the musicians were rented by her parents. The band later told, so I was in-formed, in interviews that they first dit NOT know who she was. She entered the studio did last arrangements (you see her doing it) shook hands with every one and introduced herself. Here I have to assume, that it was her real name Angelina or Jordan Astar. Again the musicians told in interviews, they though it a gag of wealthy parents for a kid. BUT when she began to sing, everybody in the studio KNEW who was singing. Watch the faces of the musicians. First smirking and THAN concentrating on the best peformance they could give. These guys worked with AJ whenever they got a chance, you recognize some of them on stage in TV-shows or in concerts. Maybe go to when she was 6 or 7, because it's the cutest thing ever documented. And also kind of on par with this, where for her age she has an otherworldly understanding of music and singing, and ability to convey it. Heart and song has a great vid of her Norway's got talent audition at 7, gloomy Sunday, with the necessary English subtitles for ease of intake of the cuteness. Then maybe go to 16 where she is now. You can't go wrong though.
