AGHHHHHHH THE DOUBLE ALBUM!!!!!!!! also the 2nd album is exactly 2 hours and 2 minuets long. concidence. I THINK NOT! also the 1st album is 1 hour and 5 minuets long, and in the second album its an extra 15 songs! And 1 and 5 put together is 15. Also 5 + 1 is 6 and rep is her 6th studio album, so maybe rep tv…….

I need to listen to it a couple time before I form an opinion. Down Bad stood out to me also. The beginning of So Long, London where she uses her voice to sound like bells is really cool. I love Florence and her voice is incredible but I don't like that banging sound on that track.

I can see it as a therapeutic album for her but i had a hard time relating on the first listen. Now as a man that relatability isn't new for me with her songs but these seem to be so deep in emotion that i only can say, good thing she found a seemingly positive emotional support in Travis because i would have put her on suicide watch otherwise. Also if she ever tours with this album i think a post concert counseling session should be included with the ticket.

I've spoken to my record store and there will be two indie versions of the vinyl (clear and ivory in germany). There will also be a little something extra when you buy the vinyl on RSD. I'll probably see exactly what that is tomorrow.

When I heard it was the biggest “LOSS” of my life 😭 This album seems so Lana Del Ray. The composer seems to be the same one as the 1989 Taylor’s version composer. Idk, after Midnights… this album is great but it just shows me how immaculate Midnights is! It really deserved album of the year. I only think that the songs aren’t too different from each other. They’re all pretty much the same. Idk I guess the songs mostly aren’t catchy. I liked Florida, Guilty as Sin, My boy only breaks his favourite toys… but my favourite I think is “Whose afraid of little old me” she sounds just like her teenage self in this song, it just was so nostalgic to me cus it reminded me of speak now/fearless era. And “the smallest man who ever lived” was also cool. Idk the album is a vibe. But maybe not my favourite. The aesthetic is beautiful though I can’t wait to see a music video drop.

Thanks, I'm a huge fan and loved the theme of the album, so I was VERY excited. But first it sounds a lot like midnights sonically. I really think she should get another producer, I get it, she and Jack Antonoff are very good friends but she could use some fresh air in production. And like you said, the songs sound very similar to each other. Kinda even uninspired. I get that the main focus are the lyrics, but this is music not a book.

Florida!!! was my favorite at first listen because it gave me a different sound than all the tracks before it. Speaking of, my first listen was disappointing. Favourite songs on THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT original would be My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, But Daddy I Love Him, I Can Fix Him, No Really I Can, loml, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart and Fortnight. Absolutely love that in Clara Bow Taylor has basically given a future perspective of a younger, newer artist that is becoming the new "It girl", almost like she is "passing the torch". Apparently she used a short from Olivia Rodrigo's Vampire video to advertise the song, so many people think it's a nod to her 🤍🖤🤍🤍

I was surprised by the country lean in a few songs, especially guilty as sin. But glad it as a whole was diverse. Also surprised about the tone of the Travis themed songs, so high school and maybe I hate it here? There’s one more where she’s trying to make it sound sweet but I don’t think it worked. Makes me curious how long ago the 2nd album was completed. The last thing that really surprised me was her lashing out at her fandom a little bit, and just directly talking to them. Brave of her to do that while on tour but she already knows all the shows are sold out I’m sure. I was wondering if she would address the fans basically making her break up with Matty to save face. And she did! I respect her more now for doing that. Overall I like it but wish the melodies were more inspired. The woman was super depressed though so I’ll give her a pass. Very diaristic and confessional and more raw than her music has been in a long time.
