This time, we're looking at a 2D Mario game which followed on from its DS predecessor's success, with a few changes. Loads of things were cut and removed by Nintendo, such as sprites from the previous game from while they upgraded the game's textures, resolution, and models! Watch the video to find out more!

Wii" is the second game from Nintendo in the "New Super Mario Bros." style, and today we will be looking at cut content and unused content from this absolute classic video game for the Nintendo Wii. The game features characters such as Yoshi and Princess Peach, but did you know that they were going to be playable characters?

Hey. About the 2D Item Sprites, I think I know where those are used. In Toad Houses, there is a minigame where you climb on a wall and flip panels to reveal items. I could be wrong but I think it uses those sprites for it.

Maybe replacing the Toads or having more characters to unlock with special abilities and an option to choose if you want to play with or without specific character habilities, that would be an amazing idea. I don't know why Nintendo didn't do that in SMM2.

Fun fact: The mega mushroom was going to be in New super mario bros wii but it was cut from the final game because there was a problem with the Mega mushroom and multiplayer Mode. Description: The player would be able to destroy everything while taking a lot of Space on the screen.

If I ever make a game, I’m putting in SO many Easter eggs for people like you to find, like naming a cut item “Load_this_in” and when you load it into the game, it actually works and it was purposely cut so dataminers can have fun while searching through the game’s files

The double search light (1:15) and flashlight thing (4:44) were used in 6-5(?), the dark underground/underwater raft level in world 6. Pretty sure these aren't unused, unless these are different versions

Yoshi was planned to be held at the end of a level, my game glitched sometime somehow. He went with mario through the end castle, but didn't come to the world screen.

I think that the “Cheep Fanfare” jingle was originally used for when you complete an enemy ambush in World 4, since it revolves around a Porcupuffer, or maybe originally Cheep Cheeps. My theory is that enemy ambushes would result in a different fanfare depending on which World the ambush was in. This was probably cut early, since it’s the only fanfare of its kind.

Just a thought about the palm trees labeled W3. In computer arrays/lists, the counting starts at zero, versus one. So the first item in an array is item 0, not item 1. That could be why the props are labeled W3, when they go to World 4, World 4 would be item 3 in that last, and they could've named the asset according, but I could be 100% wrong! That was just the first thing that came to me!

This one took quite a while, as it was a collaboration. It takes a few hours to write and record, and then roughly and hour of editing per minute of video. Over time I've improved and gotten quicker at it, though. Even though it only takes around 12 to 15 hours to make a full video, there's a lot of procrastination involved, and a lot of waiting for things.

The light at 4:45 Is created by an axe looking thing on the raft in that one world 6 level, not by the player.

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i6mcm9Clp6fWdac.html looking back into this trailer, some things were ported from the ds version of this build: coin sounds possibly the swim sound mario and luigi still had their nsmbds animations etc mario when he stands idle power up sound (when you grab an item and lose an item) things that are different from this to now: mario's voice when you use the propeller the propeller woosh sound status bar on the top left checkpoint flag all characters when jumping would have a somewhat weird chance of having their head more back when they jumped. the toads have a different fire flower palette luigi (in this trailer) has a higher and different voice when you pick up other players backgrounds are different, 1-1 has trees and hills red yoshi is in this build signs are blue in the castle forest levels?? has a placeholder overworld theme the platforms in sky levels have a much small but thick outline with the screws and itself i am highly unsure if most of this has been documented in TCRF, but these are the differences i've noticed so far.
