I was asked to perform Tchaikovsky on a 24h notice.. with Kristiina Poska and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra

I love this composer, he's always so exciting to listen to...and Miss Balanas is an exceptional violinist....in my opinion! This entire Concerto sounds like a small song wren flying through a massive musical garden. Just amazing....

She generates the most amazing sound and is so connected with the instrument. It fills my heart with joy to see someone play the violin like this. She is a unique and very special player for our times. In my opinion one of the very best!! ❤ (Plus I will add that she is a great person off stage as well. I wish she has a long and successful career!)

Superlative performance; even more amazing given the 24h notice. Good backing by the Orchestra as well, in particular in movements 2 & 3. I will be listening to Kristine Balanas forever!

Kristin Balanas: Such an amazing performance you delivered, spellbinding at the least! It almost seemed as if the music was talking to you, and you spoke back in the same language. I have never seen such interaction between the artist and their instrument before. Thank you for the passion and heart you impressed upon this beautiful composition. I was very impressed.

This is just amazing talent in combination with a beautiful mind which is a rare ocasion in our days! Loved this performance and other videos especially Ysaye sonata nr. 6 which one of most difficult pieces fir violin.

The 6:58 transition here feels good, I guess its hard to get right as not all performances manage as seamless as this, and there are more flowy ones.
