This is beautiful. T once said that when he composed it, it was ilke walking into a once beautiful garden which had decayed and fallen into despair. He spoke of how sad it was, but it seems to me that the central portion is a memory of how joyful the garden had been.

Once again Vadim Chaimovich shows his superb talent. Subtle and warm phrasing, rich sound, controlled and assured temperament. Makes absolutely no effort to show off. La force tranquille!
