Great Video! There is a Roku Voice Remote (Official) for Roku Players, Roku TVs and Roku Audio for $20. No longer a deal breaker.

This is the in-depth review I needed. Had to know what to expect for the full array backlighting, and built-in sound. Knowing this is a decent gamer display for the bedroom is what sold me. Not bad for a low end panel. Great video!

Great stuff. I an glad you compared the S555 to the U6H. I went with the S555 55” for $369. It is confusingly good for that price. SDR is insanely bright, HDR was measured almost at 800 nit peak at 50%, VRR works smooth as glass, response time is close to the best. A better tv than the U6H, for sure.

Thank you for the video. We live in a rural area and Spectrum Internet / TV has just come available and we are cutting the cord from Dish (we will still be getting their TV service for now since the price is crazy low). When I was talking to the rep from Spectrum she told me that we are on streaming service in our area and that we needed a smart TV or Roku. While our Smart TV is about 5 years old, it was time to upgrade and couldn't go more than 65" due to our entertainment center. Been racking my brain over many different TVs to include: Samsung 7 Series (had been on the top of my list until I watched some reviews on their Apps vs Roku), Roku TV and Sharp. I would never have looked at this TV (or Hisense ) because of the name. This seems to fit our needs for general TV watching, only concern is the side angle since we do not sit head on at the moment to it.

Great review. These look amazing when Profesionally Calibrated. I almost bought this mdl (open box) 65" for $321 but it was returned for a reason. I did go look at Best Buy because they Calibrate all of their display models. I couldn't tell the difference between this TV & the $2k to $6k TVs

I purchased the Google version of the 65" model in August in Canada. It was a special sale at that time. I use an Amazon firestick 4K as I find the Google software laggy. Also the lack of direct buttons for pause, play and fast forward or rewind. I know I can access pause on the TCL remote but it takes two seconds for the banner to appear at the screen bottom. From my experience the Firestick is still best remote and nice OS. Only the LG magic remote can compete for instant response. However when I use the TCL OS for viewing streaming programmes the TCL picture quality is supreme when compared to the Firestick picture quality. Never watch cable on the TCL TV. Nice review your comments are clear and assist in decicing on a purchase. Last, Google version has one less HDMI. Why? Whatever I am very content with my purchase.

I think if you don't want to spend 1,000 on high end models, this beats everything - including lower quality versions of Sony, Samsung, Visio. The main difference between the U6H and the TCL S555 is that the TCL has a much better response time (which can have a stutter effect). However, it does not upscale 480p, unlike the U6H, and of course both can't remove judder from 60hz sources like chromecast, cable etc... In order to remove that Judder, you have to move up to the U7H or for another $100 get the U8H (skip the TCL 6) at $700.

which of these two would you recommend for a bedroom TV that will only be used with an Apple TV 4k or Chromecast with google TV 4k device for strictly streaming TV and movies in a mainly dark room? The only other thing it would be used for is connecting a laptop to one of the other HDMI ports occasionally for a big laptop monitor.

Anyone know what the difference is between 2021 50" R546 Google TV / or 2022 R555 Roku? Specs seem very similar. I prefer Google OS, but do not want to sacrifice of picture quality.,

According to rtings. The TCL 5 Series/S555 2022 QLED is better than the TCL 5 Series/S546 2021 QLED. The S555 has much better accuracy both before and after calibration, and it looks better in a dark room thanks to its better local dimming feature and better black uniformity.
