I deliberately moved away from the Oled and got myself a TCL c935. Watching a movie on Oled was always very tiring for me, especially because everything was always difficult to see in the dark areas. In the meantime, "depth" or "naturalness" is simply no longer so important to me. I love how the Mini LED brightens up dark areas, it's just so much more comfortable for the eyes to watch TV in the long term.

It's tough to say because I'm watching this comparison on an LCD monitor, but when you say "look at this detail on the QD-OLED and you can't see anything on the TCL" it's literally the opposite for me. I can't see jack squat on the Samsung and I can see far more detail on the TCL.

If you adjusted the colors on your TCL and brightness it would not look like that. I have the 85 inch TCL QM8 and it doesn't look like that unless I have my brightness all the way up so I beg to differ. The colors and Picture quality after you adjust the setting is amazing and the black levels are on point just like the OLEDS.

Not surprised that QDOLED still won out but Mini LED isn’t a terrible picture. Things have definitely come a long way.

thanks for the review, very helpful. that being said, I think you went in with some preconveived notions about these TV's, given the OLED vs mini LED difference, because I didn't agree with everything. The colors are very obviously better on the S95B, no doubt. But there was not a significant difference in motion between the two, and the TCL definitely kept up. It's important to keep in mind that the TCL is like $500 cheaper for the same screen size, and is punching well above its weight

Followed you for awhile Quantum, actually got a 82 Q8NF back in the day and loved that you saw how amazing a TV it was too. Its now time to upgrade that TV. In a moderately bright room, would you say the 83" G3 or the 85" QM8 would be the better right now? I know if the 83" OLED had MLA it would be an extremely easy choice, but given we're a year or 2 away from MLA or QD OLED appearing at 80+ inches, I figured the QM8 would be a good hold over till those arrive. Do you think the QM8 would be a substantial upgrade from the Q8FN, or do you have any recommendations for other 80"+ sets, keeping it at or under $10k. Gaming (PC and PS5) and movies are the use.

Hey quantum I know the s95b is better than the qm8.. but I would choose the TCL because that's my style of watching movie so I'm glad you say it's the person preference.

Man I’m stressed. Can’t decide between 65” QM8 or 65” S90C. Mostly watch Sports and cable TV streamed over KZfaq TV… i currently have a Sony XBR55x900E

Not going to lie. I dig that TCL brightness. As you say, it comes down to what your preference is. I prefer the brightness of TCL, here.

the oled looks to have far more depth on the things that are visible on screen so yes more detail on the samsung but only on the visible areas because it has lots of black crush compared to the tlc also. so saying it has more details is subjective, it has more details in the areas that are clearly visible but the tlc has much more visible areas is another way of looking at it, also i would say the tlc is more what the director was seeing as he was there filming it because despite the slightly washed out red poles on the tlc but you can at least see the red poles on the bottom right hand corner much better then the oled at 8:44. its a really bright day and yes the trees are casting a shadow on that area but not to the extent the oled is showing where they are barley visible at all. there is a lot of black crush going on here on the oled

The tcl has hdr10+ & the 10plus is supposed to be darker than Dolby vision? Because my NEW 98” S5 s class hdr10+ is so dark when watching on my Amazon prime apps so dark can’t really watch movies .. thx

Hey man I've watched a lot of your videos and comparisons and really need your help! So for my birthday my wife got me a new tv (the Samsung S95B) I just noticed that from the side of you look down the top of it, it is slightly bent. I love the picture quality and vibrancy and everything about the tv except now this. What TV would you tell me to get if not this one that isn't 1000$ more. Seems like you're a big fan of the S95B. I'm curious what tv you would recommend. I'm just worried if Ire order it could be bent too. But I am open to just reordering it. Thanks in advance! Ps I don’t game. Only Stream!

I'm so glad I found this channel, but if I hadn't seen this particular video I would have been stuck with slightly inferior overly bright QMB. OLED is still best then? Is there a 75 to 85 anyone recommends? I thought from all the other videos that TCL and Hisense had the best picture quality. I'd prefer a Sony but was under the impression all the major brands went down hill. Maybe just their non-oleds or lower end leds in comparison?

Hello sir! I like your videos, and they've been SUPER useful to me, but when you talk about depth, color, etc. its really hard for me to tell due to the camera quality/resolution of the footage. I do agree though, the QM8 is overly bright. The footage of kyoto in the alley showed the difference the best, the shadows on the left side on the wall looked far more natural on the s95b.

So wish OLED's didn't have the burn-in issues...our LG burned in the morning news ticker (yellow background ticker)...not acceptable given maybe 2 hours for morning news

You’re comparing two tvs that are in completely different price brackets. In my country, the flagship tcl is 3.5 grand and the s95 77 inch is 8 grand. The fact that they are even close is a testament to the tcl

Omg thank god I’m not the only one dealing with this I just got mine today it uses a 600 x 600 mount the only good I was able to order is the Sanus VXT7 it’s tilting only though

@@abdulmoosani3276 Finding a mount for the QM8 85-inch has been a headache and a half. After searching around the world high and low, all I was able to find initially was the Sanus VMPL3-B1. According to the listing's details and the picture for the mount, it should've been compatible except that in order for it to be compatible it would need to be used with the mount extender plates that are shown in the picture for the mount but that are not included with the actual mount and funny enough are not available to even purchase separately anywhere. But of course, the vendor and even Sanus' website do not point out that very important detail. I ended up learning that the hard way when the guy who came to install my wall mount and tv couldn't do it with the mount that I bought. Needless to mention; I had to return it. Funny enough, I happened to come across the VXT7 that you mentioned a few hours ago and according to the listed details it seemed to me that it should work out but since I was already bamboozled once before I wasn't confident that it would work out like it seemed it should. I ordered it anyway with my fingers crossed because if this one doesn't work out then I don't think I can find another option that will work. Thank you for your comment because now I feel more at ease about my purchase. I don't understand TCL's vesa pattern choices. I also have an R754 and even though it wasn't as difficult to find a mount for it like it was for the QM8 85 inch, it also wasn't quick and easy to find one for it either.

In Australia you can get the qm8 85inch equivalent model for 4 grand and the Samsung s96b is 8 grand for 85inch.

Samsung S95C $3499.99 - TCL QM8 $1799.99 That’s about a $1700.00 price difference! That’s not peanuts! 🥜 The 85” QM8 hangs pretty damn good with the Samsung all things considered. As always it really comes down to what works best for your particular situation and budget.

Excellent video as always. To me it it looks like the qm8 over exposes the bright details. Can't see any details. What is holding me back from getting the s95b is the built quality complaints i keep reading. Panel issues, motherboards, bent screens etc.

I have TCL C935 75". As an enterance to TCL chinese market. It's good so far. I may expand my Home TV portfolio by transferring C935 from the living room to my bed room and buy QM8 98" TCL for the living room. But Samsung looks amazing too and I would choose it anyday if TCL prices increased near Samsung.

I prefer S95B! I have Seen it in person . Its d NICEST tv . D Visual don’t lie in person . More snappy ! 3D ! Real that TCL is 75” so u auto seeing More specs cuz it’s BIGGER TV ! But u don’t know if it will be More mushy . I know it looks More mushy n def more flat if u r within 12 feet away from TV

Hard to not appreciate the brightness, but the color and detail from OLED is something I don't believe LED TV's will ever be able to achieve.

Tcl has a punchy picture and much more enjoyable than the Samsung. Its superior brightness offers a better tv viewing experience than the Oled one which is much more expensive. Tcl mini led wins no question.😊
