Pervez Musharraf is complacent in the sense that he failed to get a handle on the characters in his government. Rehman Malik has a huge question mark on his role in the whole episode and he has gone scot free. It is also pertinent to examine who gained the most. The cleaning of the crime scene is the most obscene destruction of evidence in recent times.

Rehman malik and then mastermind is Zardari. Rehman malik always interrupted the interrogation and avoided pakistani police officers of the investigation to meet scotland yard and Un comission members. In their 5 years term they could not complete the investigation, which shows they did not want to apprehend the culprits as they themselves were.

Shaheed Bibi has given Pervez Elahi name after first assassination attempt in karaaz Karachi on 17th Oct when he was CM Punjab in Musharaf Regime . Pervaiz elahi term ended on 17th November 2007 while when Shahed Bibi was murdered on 27th December 2007 in Rawalpindi then Ch. Pervaiz elahi was not part of Musharaf regime and it was a care taker govt.

Strongly disagree with this guy on the bullet/lever controversy. It was definitely the lever that killed Benazir and I can say this for certain on the basis that I HAVE SEEN THE JIT REPORT OF BENAZIR CASE. In that report there's picture of Benazir’s X-ray which clearly shows an injury above the ear on the opposite side of the head from the bomber's direction with bone fragments chipped off the skull and pressed into temporal lobe of the brain by about barely 2 cm. Then in the JIT report it's clearly mentioned that Benzair’s grey and white matter was found on 2 areas: 1 is the lever and the other is in the dried pool of blood on the backseat. I can say this categorically that there was NO bullet entry wound or/and exit wound and no bullet in the head or neck part. This guy also mentioned the post mortem issue which is where he's wrong again. The actual issue started when both Zardari and Rehman Malik sent a letter to the head of the JIT offering complete and absolute support in the investigation. The head of the JIT in response to the letter sent a letter back to Zardari asking for 3 things: 1. Benzair’s body to be Exhumed for the investigation. 2 Benazir’s clothes to be handed over particularly the dubata. 3. ... . (Honestly I forgot what 3rd was). After that there was just dumb silence from Zardari. As far arrests are concerned, almost all those liable in the direct action have been dealt with and their cell being destroyed however the there were no powerful people ever brought forward. Officially this was a terrorist plot from XYZ organisation and XYZ cell which “by chance” succeed. The JIT report mentions by stating that the original attack was supposed to be when Benazir was on stage or before she reached the stage. All the JIT members know who was behind this cell but they'd never say a word. It's something they've all planned to take it to their graves unless one day the chose otherwise.
