Interesting side note; the Medieval era was famously known as the "Dark Ages" because there were so many Knights.

Thank you. I block comments there as I hope to use those videos as classroom resources. When you post a video like that you get no shortage of people who want argue with you, often times in petty ways, and then have some out and out nut jobs. The downside, I can’t interact with comments like this one. Again, thanks a ton.

A good book on the siege of Malta is Empires of the Sea by Roger Crowley. The book also goes over the battle of Lepanto. Roger Crowley has several other good history books, his first being 1453 about the siege of Constantinople by Mehmed the Conqueror.

Thanks. I'm familiar with his 1453. Victor Davis Hanson has a good chapter on Lepanto in his Carnage and Culture as well.

Gun to my head, 1759. More a theme thing than anything. Mechanically, they all offer something different and fun.

I agree that the story and background is impressive and that comes out in the game. For gameplay I think it works very well and is hard when you play the Turks but I find playing the Knights is to easy and random. So take one point of there.

It looks fantastic but I’ve read too many people saying the game is a bit broken and likely wasn’t play tested enough. Playing the knights is simply too easy and playing the Turks next to impossible. Hopefully an official “patch” comes out.
