Hi i was wondering whats the biggest difference with inlines and normal ice skating? Is it where the toe pic/stop thingy is? Cus if that’s it, I’m in a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit of a pickle:/ actually lets make it A HEACK OF A LOT of trouble 😬

The biggest difference for me is weight placement for things like gliding, turning, and stopping. Starting with turns, 3 turns on inlines requires you to put weight into your toe stop and front wheel, while on ice, the weight shift is very subtle and doesn’t ruin the flow of your skating. For gliding, you have a shorter skating surface on inlines since the wheels don’t go past your heels, so when I switched back to ice, the biggest problem I had was tripping over the back part of my blade (the part that extends past the heel). Stopping on inlines is a lot harder and scarier than on ice, since you can’t grind away at pavement with polyurethane wheels. The toe pick and stop don’t have too big of a different in terms of placement (at least in my experience). It also depends on the frames but as long as you learn not to trip on rubber toe stops, you should be good on toe picks as well!
