“You keep telling me to say less, I’m not going to” was one of my favorite lines
@farfromirrational9484 ай бұрын
Somebody had to say it. That is such a terrible slang phrase. For one the words themselves are a command "say less"....which you shouldn't be commanding anyone to do anything. 2 what you mean to say is "I understand", so why are you telling the other person what to do.
@timefficient4 ай бұрын
@@farfromirrational948 say less essentially just means that you’ve been persuaded with what you’ve just been told. Eg. “Go jump off that cliff” the response “say less”. *jumps* Or “go jump off that cliff”… “why?”… “Because it’s fun”… “Say less” *jumps* It’s not that bad a saying if used appropriately

@@farfromirrational948 you just made it out like “say less” was a command though when it’s merely a reply, just like “I understand”, though those phrases are not entirely the same anyway. I would say that say less means both you understand and agree and that you don’t need any more convincing , which just reinforces the reason why slang exists in the first place, the convenience of not having to be so articulate while still getting the message across… and probably to help express some character as well. Nothing wrong with that is there? Bit more engaging than just saying OK or something ahaha

@andyjet20004 ай бұрын
@@AHnnssy I think it's supposed to be a full circle. He didn't laugh at the original joke, but then when the guy said he's starting to warm up to his character, he brought back the original joke by bringing back the focus of the main joke (keys) to prove his original joke with a new one, causing the guy to laugh. This also shows that he "got" the joke; He received the keys (joke.) I originally thought it was a race joke, but after thinking about it a little more this is what seemed more logical, either way, most jokes are funny because of the delivery and the ease of understanding, which this guy does really well. So it's funny regardless.

So he’s saying If I don’t laugh at jingling keys then I’m trying too hard to be manly? What does manliness or jingling keys have to do with humor? I mean if somethings funny I’ll laugh. I’m not thinking about whether or not I’ll look manly. I just really don’t understand his point especially with that question
