I get so worried about my own classroom performance, worried that students aren't listening or that I had to repeat an instruction or correct a student along the way. It was awesome seeing you teach like this! Thank you for reminding me that kids aren't perfect, we aren't perfect, so our classrooms don't have to be perfect!

Hello Megan, Thank you for sharing this content, I'm a substitute teacher here in LA. I so much admire your hard work and dedication, time and effort to display the life of a teacher, more than anything willing to be honest and sincere about the behind the scenes process and limits as being an educator. I've watching your videos for about a year or so (eversince I started subbing). You're such a true role model and great femenist, those students are greatful to have you as their teacher. Thank you for all you do, and for this channel!.

6th grade is the year where they begin to formulate their own opinions and articulate their own thoughts and ideas. Being a third grade teacher, I always try to get my students to give me more than an “in the box” answer. One of the ways I do this is through opinion writing (yes, we do opinion writing in third grade). I enjoyed your lesson. Your kids were super engaged, focused, and I loved how you implemented strict procedures for the tasks your students had to complete. I definitely took a lot of great points from this video and I want to try these points out next year. I also enjoyed how you had your kids respect each other through the use of the expectations and procedures you set forth! 😁. Making a counter argument is amazing for children because it allows them to really listen to what they are saying and pay attention with their body and face! 😁. Thank you for your continued inspiration! 😁. By the way, where did you get your timer you had on your board? I try to use the one on my projector, but I need my kids to see whatever instructions I provide for them to follow.

The first girl who spoke from the second table (currently at 20:28), did so amazing. I could tell with how eager she was to stretch that little arm out and get the microphone that she already had her details organized and was ready to express their point. This was such an amazing video and I hope you see this even though it's three years old. I've been watching your channel since I got into highschool and present day I turned 21 last month and currently working with toddlers in a daycare until I make the move to get my bachelor's and get integrated in a public school. I want to work with Kindergarten to 3rd grade 😩 Thank you for being the teaching candle that stayed lit Throughout all this time without ever losing your beautiful, hardworking flame and giving up on the profession 🥺 I get so sad seeing former teachers I watched forever end their teaching career .. although completely understandable every time I see a great teacher leave the field a part of my own candle falters under wind and I get so afraid one day it's going to self extinguish and I'll be stuck wandering if education was really the right path for me.. people like you remind me to keep pushing towards my goal!
