The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy this holiday season helping a local man gift $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to bless as many individuals in our community as he can.
Susan is always helping others without thinking of herself. She has been teaching 3rd grade for many years and is loved by her students and their parents.
She and her husband have built an amazing playhouse in a friend's backyard for her kids. She organized a fundraiser for a coworker
who was raising money to adopt, helped another coworker remodel her kitchen because the floor was damaged and she made quilts to sell with funds going toward the funeral of a colleague's spouse.
Susan's husband is fighting cancer for the third time and he can't work so they are having to live on her teacher salary. Through her challenges, she remains optimistic and cheerful.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves if we could visit Susan at school with a special gift. Watch the video above to see the unforgettable surprise!

Just had this on Tameron Hall show !! (Talk show ) and they just gave the teacher another 10,000 and gave the students a gift as well !! ❤❤ so AWESOME !!

lol, once in elementary school i believe, possibly even 3rd grade, something upset me, possibly the teacher did something and i told her that's not fair, her response was life isn't fair. that's the wrong thing to tell a student, it doesn't justify someone being unfair, especially a teacher. it's just a contrast, compared to the saying in that class regarding fairness. a different, more positive perspective

@@Nokiaar1 if you are four feet tall and you have a friend that is six feet tall, giving both of you two six inch boxes to stand on only lets one of you see over a fence that is six foot three inches. Giving you three of those boxes and your friend one means you both can see. That is fair.

@@rabidsamfan Your argument is flawed. Fair is for both to get a box, big enough for both of them to look over the fence. Not for one to get three boxes and the other one. Both should get the same, which doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be any recognition and adjustment to needs. The other solution is as a matter of fact unfair.

Im from good old england & this warms my heart & my son remembers 2-3 teachers that had an impact on him & helped keep him in line & he always talks to them whenever he gets the chance

She's still teaching as she opens her gift lol! Her students are so well behaved they were quiet & then she didn't even have to look behind her as she walked out, she just said oh they are getting in alphabetical order and then they start filing out in a perfect line hahaha. My husband teaches Rocket Science on Outschool for ages 5-18 it's so different vs in person school but we love it. Whatever works for each student and family. These kids seem pretty amazing.

I am in Iowa also and this is by far one of my favorite holiday traditions!! Me and my family make it a goal to watch all the secret santa videos every year!! This is what makes the holidays so amazing and heart warming.

My girlfriend has been teaching for 27 years and absolutely loves her career, and her students. She makes $17.50 an hour, and drives a 2003 toyota corolla with over 220k miles. The paint looks horrible. when you give a teacher a present or a gift card. you have no idea how much it means to them. Ive seen her break down and cry over the tiniest of gifts...So please during Christmas dont forget those special teachers, who love and care for your Children. Some do it for a paycheck, and some put their whole heart into it.

As a former teacher, I Love, Love, Love how she used this as a teaching moment for her kids to apply Place Value! lol Once a teacher, always a teacher. Congrats Susan!! P.S. I also like how gentle her language is. She just kept saying , " Oh my word!". She never took the Lord's name in vain even once. May she be blessed (and her husband too).

Notice that when he was telling her to splurge at the Fabric store, she slipped in that she didn't know how. I believe that. She's one of those people that thinks of everyone else before themselves, and she's done it for so long that she doesn't remember how to do something nice for herself. Secret Santa sure knows which people really need to be loved on. I bet a lot of her days are harder on her than she'll ever let on, especially with a sick husband. Awesome job, Secret Santa.

I love these two "elves". that are with Nate. They look mischievous, like they have a secret and are soooo excited to get the secret out. It did kinda crack us up when this teacher told the kids she got a check "Not in the ones, not in the tens, not in the hundreds, but in the THOUSANDS"...... she's such a TEACHER!! Im having a pretty rough year myself. I came into work yesterday and my coworkers had a huge box of groceries waiting for me...i cannot express what it meant to me to have my own not so Secret Santas. Merry Christmas everyone. Dear East Idaho News Team, I’m from Germany and I’ve been watching her videos little by little over the past few weeks. What am I supposed to say? It’s just wonderful and great what you’re doing. Especially in these crazy times. Unfortunately, there is no such thing in Germany, but it is good to see that there are still good people. Your videos definitely advertise me to pay more attention to my fellow human beings. From the bottom of my heart I send you only the very best wishes and I hope you, your team and the whole family will stay healthy for a long time! I can’t think of a better job than what I see here! Actually, you can do good things in Germany as well. Eg. every homeless shelter will be grateful for donations at Christmas so they can do some nice Christmas dinners and presents for people. And idk how it is in Germany, but here in Austria we have "Licht ins Dunkel" which gives the donations to families in need. Typically, it's cases quite similar to the ones you see on this Secret Santa series - families where one partner suddenly fell seriously ill or died, or they lost their home due to some disaster. I'd be surprised if there wasn't something similar in Germany. So, go looking for it, I'm pretty sure there's an opportunity to be a part of a Secret Santa like thing and help people in Germany as well. We just don't usually see them on TV because of privacy reasons. Merry Christmas from your neighboring country!

There are some gorgeous things in this one, Andrea, back with curly hair - very gorgeous, and the children getting to see the beauty of love giving and making someone's year, a massive lesson for them, Susan clearly has a big heart for others, but was struggling to meet her own needs, now she knows that others have a big heart for her as well. The car is even the same colour as her jumper, FANTASTIC.

As a retired teacher myself, I salute this woman for her service. Although I never had my students line up in alphabetical order, I did emphasize good behaviour. I am impressed with the well behaved students in her class and wish them all a very happy Christmas.

I still remember my 3rd grade teacher. In second grade.. My mom passed away, she & the counselor were the only ones who actually helped me heal at school because I just excluded myself from everyone. I'll never forget them. Mrs, Herinivich and Mrs White. 💖💖💖
