You people crying about double standards in these situations need to get past the everything-and-everyone-is-exactly-the-same-so-they-all-should-be-treated-exactly-the-same foolishness and understand that males and females are not the same and shouldn't be or expect to be treated the same ALL the time. The reality is that this could at least completely change, if not destroy, a young girls life. There are reasons for that, like, say, she can get pregnant, for one. Women are also just more emotionally affected by things like this. And that can indeed traumatize SOME girls. Boys are not going to be traumatized or damaged by this in any way, when it happens or at anytime later. The most it will affect a boy is to give him pleasant memories and an occasional urge to thump his chest and brag a bit. These are natural things that haven't, for most of history, even required teaching. Because it used to be common sense. A male teacher should be penalized for this, likely imprisoned. A female teacher probably should lose her job for this, and her husband might divorce her for this, but the idea of sending her to prison for abuse of teenage boys is batsh-t ridiculous, insulting to boys, and something that uptight, nosy old maids, as they used to be called, would ever have a hissy fit about. @michaelwhite1055 I don't mean to direct this at you particularly, but at the more 'outraged' types commenting about this. BTW, what type of double standards were you searching for? Just curious.

I’m a professional who has been in the “people business “ for many years. This stuff is epidemic and is actually more common with female teachers than men. That’s true, I believe, because men realize that their penalty will sadly be much greater than women, and they are right . This is mental illness of the worst degree . To be clear, it is NOT such that the woman is absolved of the crime! She knew exactly what she was doing. We had an 8th grade English teacher that was inappropriate with the 8th grade boys everyday openly it was crazy. She's give back rubs, whisper in ears, and run her finger thru boys hair and talk sexually suggestive. She'd also dress very provocative, heels, open blouses, tight skirts, lots of makeup and red lipstick, hair all poofy up and hairsprayed. She even took some boys home from school claiming she gave them rides home. One day she was gone and not a word was said by the school.

If some guys wish it had happened to them when they were in school?...think again....a friend of mine has gone through this...he was a very bright student with a promising future...but the relationship with his teacher ruined it all...he grades started dropping...he lost the interest to study and then finally ended up a wreck when she broke up with him abruptly...he ended up with alcolhol and substance abuse and never ever had a good healthy relationship after that....he has divorced twice and he has given up on finding a soulmate....an absolute mess!!!

I’m so sorry for your friend yes this ruins the mind of a student esp when they are not of age and it’s a person who is older and a teacher who abused their power I wish he got help to know that it wasn’t his fault that the teacher should have known better and it’s sad how some adults only think of themselves and think it’s ok the student is 17 or 18 it’s not ok these are young adults still growing into themselves they don’t relise how complicated something like this is and the adult can handle it but the student they have no idea why they feel the way they do and they blame themselves and feel bad for the person who should have known better! I pray for your friend just always be supportive I hope he releases this burden he has carried for so long

im in my 30s when i was 12 years old my mother took him to one of her friends house , her friend had a younger woman over who was 25 years old and drunk on the sofa. My mum and her friend were also in the same room, i sat next to the 25yr old woman on the sofa and she kept leaning her head on my shoulder and kissed me on the cheek, i started kissing her on the cheek back. There are both natural and historical reasons for this. Male and female sexuality are different. Girls get pregnant. Historically, men believe they have to protect the honor of the tribe's women because that's how you guarantee the integrity of family lines.. You don't want a woman to get pregnant from a stranger. That's why the idea is deeply ingrained in us that a young girl's sexuality has to be closely guarded.
