Even with a temperature of 10 below zero, I used to go about in lederhosen. The feeling of freedom they give you is wonderful. Abandoning my shorts was one of the biggest sacrifices I had to make… Anything up to five degrees below zero I don't even notice. My brother has always been the most sensible man I've ever met. Never drunk-drove; never did drugs; no fights; never got in any trouble, etc. But in his early 20s, he was very tall, well-built, and he just accidentally looked... like a bruiser 😂 Anyway, one night at 2am, he was driving home on a Friday night from his studying (of all things!) - in his university town. A cop pulled him over and didn't even give a reason. He pulled him over, said he could smell alcohol, and asked him to do a breathalyser (this is the UK. It's straight to breathalyser, we don't do sobriety tests. Which I personally think is better, as it answers the question without all that faffing around). My brother blew a straight zero. The cop was shocked, and said he'd never found a lad my brother's age - at 2am in this university town - driving completely sober, on a Friday night. My brother would have been within his rights to get angry, but he's so calm and peaceful, he just thanked the cop for 'keeping the roads safe' - and shook his hand. He was so nice to the damn cop, the cop said he'd reconsider his assumptions in future. He then just said 'drive safe', and let him go. I'm not saying you shouldn't challenge cops, if they behave badly and profile you. But my brother's demeanour was so calm and peaceful, it actually made the cop think twice. Hopefully that saved some other young men in future, from being profiled by that cop.

His partner was keeping some evidence at his home until they could turn it over to the TBI. Just like a movie script, his home was burglarized and nothing taken but the incriminating documents. However, the sheriff was eventually indicted and sent to prison.

I had a wild incident that happened to me in KY back in 2011. I was leaving my GF's mothers house, because my GF was staying with her mother down in KY at the time. I had a pretty good drive ahead of me and I barely knew the area. I was 30 minutes from her mother's house and I decided to go to a gas station to get something to drink and to get a snack. Once I pulled out of the gas station, I decided that I should take a little break, so I pulled into a park to eat my bag of chips and to call my GF. No more than a minute after pulling in, a cop pulls in at an angle to where his door was almost directly facing my door and he put his door spotlight on me. I rolled the window down thinking that he was just curious. When he stepped out of his car, I said "what's up?" He said, "step out of your car." I still didn't think anything of it and I started to get out of my car. As I was getting out, I heard a button unsnap. I seen that he was pulling his gun on me, so I froze halfway of getting out of my car. He stopped his motion when he noticed that I froze and yelled at me to get out. I stepped all the way out with both hands in the air and said "what's the problem here?" He gets right up in my face and says "you're f'n attitude is the problem." I said that I didn't have an attitude. Then he asked me what I was crushing up in my car. I said "chips?" Then told him that I was eating chips with one hand and had my phone in the other hand. He screamed "bullshit! We have a pill problem, do you know what that is?" I said that I didn't have anything like that and that he could search my car all night long. He said that he was going to search it alright and that he was going to search me too. Then he pushed me into my car and started patting me down. At this time, another cop showed up. A tall blonde haired guy and that's when they started both asking me questions. I knew I was at their mercy, I accidentally left my phone in the car and was too afraid to get it when the cop pulled a gun on me. Every time they asked me a question, I'd answer and then say "I am not a problem, I just want to go home." In a hope that their dash cams could hear the conversation. They asked me where I came from and I told them that I was not familiar with the area. But I told them the direction and that it was 30 minutes from there. They tell me it's awful weird that I don't know. I said yet again that I didn't know anything about the area. I told them that I was dropping my GF off at her mother's house. They then asked me who my GF was and I told them. They looked at each other and laughed like they both knew her. They were trying to taunt me in order to get a reaction. They then told me that I was stupid and that Ohio State sucks, because I had a Ohio State hoodie on. Which I replied that it was their opinion, but whatever. So after they seen that the flurry of insults wasn't going to work. The first guy ordered me to walk to the front of my car and turn my back to it. While the blonde haired guy searched my car. I thought for sure that they were going to plant something in there and blame it on me. So I looked at the first guy and said "look sir, I'm really not a problem at all and I just want to go home man." He then loosened up and tried to "justify" his actions by saying that there is a major drug problem there. I just agreed with what he was saying so I could just leave. After a few minutes, the blonde got out of my car and I asked if I could leave. The first guy said sure. As I was walking to the door, the blonde got in my face and said "you need to clean your car." I had no clue what he meant. It was a brand new car. That was until I sat in my seat and seen that he trashed it. He purposely spilled my chips everywhere. My drink was also spilled in the floor. I drove off and I was so shook that my hands were shaking. Not only because the cop pulled his gun on me for literally no reason. But because I felt like he really intended to use it on me if I had not stopped moving. On top of that, it felt like if I smarted off even a little. That they were going to try to claim that I tried to attack them and beat me up or shoot me. This incident taught me a lot. First off, if a cop starts getting shady. You start recording right then and there. Always keep your phone in hand. Because you just never know. I thought that I was going to just step out and have a good casual conversation with a dude. Maybe even chill with him for a few minutes. I've done it before with cops after being pulled over. Never had a problem before. I'd just joke back and forth. Not all cops are bad of course. But the ones that make it bad, make it bad for everyone. Because now my trust is mostly gone when it comes to cops.

I was once mistreated by cops in Germany during a stop and no one apologized when it turned out to be wrong. I later found myself in a situation where the cops had to rely on me regularly.
@user-gq4uu9ic2z3 ай бұрын
Same exact situation happened to me as first guy. Came home from a hiking trip, got pulled over for headlights or brake light. Asked me if i was drinking....ran me through sobriety test....ended up blowing 0s. Asked if i had been smoking and shook my head while i said no. He responded saying, well you said no but shook ur head yes. Which one is it?" disgusting man. Wish i would have known how unprofessional that was. Maybe would have pursued legal action. It's a small town I had just moved to and decided against it to avoid being targeted.

This young man did something that he may or may not realize. I served my country for 35 years and I can tell you this young man is going to go far in life. Because he is intelligent and shows traits of a strong leader. The roles where reversed that night because that night be was the Public Servant, who protected his community from this bad police officer and clearly this police office has done this so often and got away with it and clearly his moral compass was smashed and he should go to jail for wearing a uniform that he clearly should have never put on. So very proud of this young man. God Bless You!

@@StatesMusic First, who's deciding what's "right" for who? And no, others going "Because I say so for you" isn't cutting it. The fact is things aren't black and white. It's ones one actions and choices at the end of the day. Which will have consequences. If you play your cards right you can turn the tables on a cop. Even if arrested. It's all about getting them to realize there's no moral high ground. That they're just as bad as what they judge somehow. People are often blind to their own actions. The truth is the truth though. Just present the logic with straight answers to questions and sticking to facts. If they play the "legal" cards then play the "You're a hypocrite" card. Some cops know they're pricks. Their own words. Some know they can do better but maybe aren't sure how. People pretend standard training is enough. It's not. If I was teaching cops I'd do it while also teaching criminals. By making a point about how dishonest can cost lives. What would I make this point? Because cops are trained to lie and use fake evidence. Once that becomes a habit then how can you trust yourself when used to lies and deception? Even if knowing the truth first, if you tell yourself something so many times you can believe the lie. That's if you mean to do it. So imagine but easy and common it is from bad habit alone. It's no wonder the law can't be trusted.

"Fired from the department" means he's just going to get a job in the next county. If a police officer is fired for misconduct they should be barred from being hired at ANY police department, ANYWHERE in these states and territories.

Yep. I'd say it should be like a lawyer getting disbarred or a doctor being stripped of their license. And after being fired they should nail the ex cop with all the appropriate criminal charges. They can pay for a lawyer out of their own pocket.
