I teach 5th, but we've had Wonders for 3 years. My best advice is to NOT try to do it all. Focus on what you think is most beneficial to your class. I've heard Wonders compared to a buffet - that they provide a lot (and yet sometimes not enough) for you to pick and choose. The first year is the most difficult because you aren't sure what to choose. It will get easier as the year progresses and next year will be even easier! Hang in there :)

I feel like a kid on Christmas when I see you have a new video!😂 And I always think of so many questions… Do you have your grading sheets in your TPT store? We have switched to standards based grading and report cards and are strongly encouraged to use tracking sheets( looks like your grading ones). Also need info on your curling iron! 😍 And I can’t wait to hear more about math workshop.. number talks. small groups. all of it. Do you do the minilesson whole group? Then what do u do in small groups and how many small groups do you have? Thanks for all you do!! You are so motivating! Your kids must love bring in your class! And please keep us posted on your favorite read alouds. My kids loved Sophie Mouse! ❤️

Wonders is a lot! You don’t get to as much as you think in the beginning of the year but it gets better as the students learn routines etc.!

Love watching your content! I don’t have any experience with Wonders but do with Lucy and it’s always so much stuff. My team and I make slides for each lesson and this helps us scale back to the most important things. Otherwise your whole group lesson doesn’t end up being very mini

Wonders has so much to it!! I teach Kindergarten and I try to only get to the meaty parts of it. It’s a lot! I put on The Big Bang Theory when I start getting sleepy. It’s my fave! 😁

I use so many fun headbands too for small group and of course forget they’re on my head & everyone always gets a kick out of it! Enjoy your videos, hope you had a great long weekend.

I have taught Wonders going on year 7 now, and I struggle too. I focus on grammar and vocabulary words, and then I do the RWW story and then the practice book story for comprehension plus vocabulary strategy. It's really challenging.

This is our last year doing Wonders. We have had it for six years 😢. You can’t cover everything and will go crazy trying to. Our second grade team picks and chooses what we do. Hang in there.

Yay I’m first! Lol. We had iReady reading diagnostic last week and math is this week. Think I’m finally getting the hang of Wonders! We’re missing ten companion packages too. You can’t get to everything they offer! We choose what is important for our kids. Hope you had a great 3 day weekend‼️🥰

I definitely cut down wonders quite a bit. I only have 90 minutes for my entire ELA block. I teach 5th.

I really appreciate you keeping things REAL. It helps to know that others are experiencing the same feelings my teammates and I are feeling. What copyright of Wonders do you have? We have had Wonders for several years now. There is way too much to get through...always leaves me feeling like I should have done more. Our admin. wants 3rd grade to pilot 95% Tier One Core. What are your thoughts on it so far?
