Our social studies teacher did something like this: He had the principal come in and announce that we were going to have to start paying 5 cents per piece of paper we used in class for worksheets, tests, etc. Needless to say we were very upset (but glad we finally had a reason to protest homework!). Then we realized it was a joke because we were learning about the stamp act in class.
