This is Spanish for "what will be, will be." This is something you say when you are stuck in a hopelessly unchangeable situation, but have come to accept, or even embrace the unchangability of it all. This is similar to the phrase "it is what it is." Doctor: I regret to say that your mother-in-law did not survive the surgery. Guy: *attempting to suppress a smile* Oh well. Que sera sera.

I always liked this scene. While Black Adder always talked down to Baldrick, the fact that at this point in history he was willing to TEACH his servant maths meant he had at least some level of care/respect for him.

I would not say it is superior. I think Blackadder is not for everyone even though it is smart and well written. Mr.Bean comedy was for everyone. The fact that people of different cultures and languages could still enjoy Mr.Bean is a true feat in itself. If it can be enjoyed by everyone then the humour is absolutely genius.

If I want to watch a decent comedy I go back to the oldies, or even a select few from last decade (e.g Peep Show). Wouldn't touch the tripe they come out with now, especially on the BBC. A couple years ago I attempted to watch a new BBC 'comedy' and threw up. Never tried again since.

This is the comedic genius of Mr.Atkinson.In love with him since i can remember anything. They changed it from season 2 initially Baldrick was brilliant and he was stupid.Glad they changed it. One of the masterpieces of comedy with a stellar ensemble cast.Sadly this will never be recreated.:-(

This was the very first scene following the first series, where we see the roles flip from Blackadder being the dimwit and Baldrick being the intelligent one, to the opposite. Worked much better IMO

It's kinda wholesome that Edmund just sits there teaching math to Baldrick, for bo reason and he also tries to make him think for himself, It's nicest he's been to him since 15th century.

It's completely Blackadders fault. He didn't once say "How many beans?" He kept saying "What do you have?" And Baldrick correctly said "some beans".

Not only did he ask: "How many are there" at 0:33, he also spoiled the answer the second before the questions. But i guess the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people.
