Have you ever done a podcast on how to choose a coach? What are the things to look for? Here are some things that I think are important: 1. If a new coach does not start by looking at your grip on forehand/backhand/serve/volley, then that's a bad coach. 2. If the coach does not video you, then that's a bad coach. 3. If a coach just hits with you with occasional comments, then that's a bad coach. Coaches should always have drills, preferably with progressions. 4. If a coach does not work on a specific shot/technique, one at a time, then that's a bad coach. 5. If a coach does not give you homework, then that's a bad coach. Can you think of anything else? Have you done a podcast on this subject?

Nice practice. Well done. Just one small talk to Anna: What I told you about delivering from left hand to right hand, is a tool to force a coil on player body. It's usually more useful in a stationary position. When you have to run, then run exactly the way coach Nicola showed to you at 5:40. You have no choice but to run with racquet in right hand. But you need to eliminate the unwanted moves in racquet. You don't want the racquet to dangle around as you run.The key is usually a bent in the arm. Elbow forms an L. Look how coach does it and do it at home without breaking the window, hopefully. Do it until you find the comfort. Now this is the best part of you, you are fit, you are attentive and you care for your progress. You can have real good movement on the court. Some potential there. There is no reason yo can't be a 5.0 player and win tournaments. Good Luck.

Prior this session, she thought sweating while playing tennis can only happen due to high temperatures. But now she knows how exhausting tennis can be if you move the right way. I can play with high intensity and good movement. But only for like 35 minutes. Then my level really goes down. So I have to keep that in mind for the moment and try to improve my shape long term. Being a good mover for an entire match or even two a day requires a very good stamina.

The reality is that this type of "hot feet" footwork is very tiring and not fun, especially for older players. She also says it is very annoying. My guess is that she will not incorporate the "hot feet" footwork. Nothing wrong with that. At her 3.0 level, and up to 4.0, she can play just fine without the "hot feet" footwork.

Anna's deportment is exemplary but she needs to loosen that poise in order to move faster. Seemingly reluctant to chase down the ball plus giving up on short ones, maybe Anna's reactions are naturally delayed. Pushing her hard to improve coordination and speed, you never fail to praise her achievements, great tuition Nick.

Don’t think she reluctantly letting balls go. She’s trying hard. It’s not as easy as it looks. Ball recognition and intensity are one the biggest hurdles to overcome at the lower and intermediate rec levels.

Great lesson. As Anna said, the "hot feet" is very annoying. But it is necessary for 4.0+ levels of play. In Anna's case, the ceiling for middle-aged players 3.0 players like her is 4.0, so she can certainly get by without it, a It is also interesting that she finds it annoying even though she has a dancing background. My guess is that she, like the vast majority of older club players, will not really incorporate the hot feet footwork. Tennis is more fun without it. 🎾
