You hear it all the time… The popular catch phrase, love is enough. Basically what it means is love is enough to make a relationship work. But is love really enough? The answer is no. Because when we are asking that question, we don’t actually love someone, instead we are in love with them. In this episode, Teal explains the difference between loving someone and being in love. She goes on to explain that getting into a relationship based on intense attraction is not wrong because it gives rise to the greatest expansion but that if one wants a feel good relationship, love is not enough. We also need conscious compatibility and conscious commitment.

Only because the word LOVE is downgraded to pure feelings, does not mean LOVE is not enough. Real love as a fact and its depth is always depenedent on the depth od understanding oneself. The more you understand, the more you can express love in its wholeness.

I'M a HUGE Teal fan, but this video falls a little short for me, emotionally speaking. I left an abusive marriage when I found attraction with someone 25 years ago and we're still together and still feel the passion! Definitely done a lot of shadow work together - very healing. Personally, I would recommend following your attraction. Of course the more aware you are the better, but don't sell the "unconscious" short - it's WAY smarter than our puny ego consciousnesses! Take risks and LIVE!!! Get outta your dull energy sucking relationships! See ya, Starfield

FYI, Teal always says to follow your attraction as well because it is calling you to heal something or grow in some way that you need.

Yes initially there has to be an attraction to begin anything friendship or romantic relationship however you consciously chose your partner instead of subconsciously and you two are compatible which is what Teal is saying here as well

This video was amazing, and I know firsthand because I recently jumped at my intense attraction to someone, and yes, it was incredibly painful and hurt me immensely to the point where I fell into a deep depression. In this process, I was forced to do some intense self-examination and I came out the other side with an entirely new understanding of myself and how I have been interacting with the world. This person went from someone I never wanted to see again and wished I could erase from my life to someone I am very grateful to for helping me become a better person by understanding how I have been creating painful situations in my life. Rapid expansion indeed. Thank you Teal for once again sharing your wisdom that resonates with me.

This is what I need and have been looking for in a relationship I can't seem to get away from because of the intense love and attraction I have for a person who I am not and never will be compatible with. It's been painful the whole 6 years on and off but the fact that our love for one another is strong keeps bringing me back to the relationship. I am happy and envious for what you have accomplished.

After being a "romantic" who thinks that attraction is the most important thing, and after experiencing attraction that many people with their "twin flames" are talking about, I can only agree with Teal. It is easy to confuse attachment and attraction with love, or call it connection, but if attraction hurts in any way, or feels needy, then you are probably not coming from the place of wholeness and unconditional love. And when you are not whole, when you are wounded, it is very unlikely that you are going to experience a particularly joyful and lasting relationship, quite the opposite..

I guess I've just made a full cycle, took me couple of years...But hearing the same thing again....but what's interesting,, as Teal also mentioned it...coming from wounded background brings you a source gate...also for creative self expression i think....=)

lastonogii13 I agree with all Teal is talking about. The difference is, I would not use the term "wound"...which, in the general sense, is the result of an accident. Each generation have to engage "cultural experiences" course on the way to self awareness, so I would use the term "obstacle". There are no accidents on the spiritual road to enlightenment.

With respect to the arranged marriages thing... I'm so glad she brought this up, since it's always fascinated me. She says those relationships tend to lead to greater happiness because they're not motivated by subconscious wounds. She says what's left, what then dictates whether the relationship fails or thrives, is whether the couple is "compatible". I think those relationships lead to greater happiness because the arrangement somewhat forces a dedication to building happiness together, where initially there is "compatibility" or not. This is the piece we often miss. Marriage is work. Those in arranged marriages go into the process knowing and accepting it is work. If they are not initially compatible, they *become* compatible, by virtue of working on it, both separately and together.

If you are serious about understanding her, study the Myers-Briggs and Jungian cognitive functions. Teal Swan is an INFJ. This explains her deep introverted intuition, warm yet intelligent demeanor and attractive, mysterious personality. Most INFJs are like that. My mother, also an INFJ, was very similar to Teal. But INFJs are one of the most rare personality types (~ 1-2% of the population) so we don't see them too often, which contributes to them seeming mysterious.

I did 'JUMP', a few times before, on the intense attraction feeling and oh boy, did I go through the rapid expansion. It sure was a ride that included a lot of ups and downs. But I learned from them, grew, evolved and am now a completely different person. I am whole and content with myself and not 'desperate' anymore. Am now ready to consciously create and commit. Thank you Teal for this wonderful video.

Update (9/14/18): I felt strongly drawn to watch this video again, due to its wealth of knowledge and wisdom, and sure enough, it was a great idea. I realized how immensely profound your teachings are, and your ability to transform the extremely complex into something understandable for the average person is truly impressive, and can only stem from a very intelligent, highly evolved, deeply loving, Multidimensional Being. I found myself pausing this video after certain messages, and then reflecting on how that wisdom applies to my own life; I was amazed, as usual, how spot on you are. Looking back, I noticed that I've often turned to you during my darkest hours, when life seemed so hopeless, and you have managed to raise my vibrational frequency each time to varying degrees, sometimes to the point where I can feel inner-peace as well as intense, inner-body vibrations. So thank you so much Teal and team, for your precious existence, and for Being an invaluable gift to your Multidimensional self/Self and this interconnected world, merging worlds, Galaxy, Universe, and beyond. Continue shining bright, transmuting the so-called darkness of the world with your powerful Light/Unconditional Love. By the way, I noticed the second time around that you fixed the issue that I mentioned in yesterday's comment (thank you!): This has probably been mentioned within the 274 comments so far, that I don't plan on sorting through to find out, but this video gets cut off and then starts all over at around the 7+ minute mark; then you have to fast-forward to where you left off. Just thought you'd might want to know in case you missed it. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Nonetheless, thank you so much Teal for another very helpful video. I wish you and your loved ones much happiness.

This is why its so important to know what you want in a person. Define well what you need and desire. It can be for example WHO they are ( EX: charming, gentleman, treats their mom right, funny, intelligent, race, comfortable being with), and I know what I want I asked God for a man who has God in his heart most importantly, reads bible. Gentleman, business man, ambitious and is humble. I am blessed to have found that and I wasn't attracted to them in the beginning we started out as friends then as I realized who it was decided to commit to that person and we are opposite and are really compatible with each other and made a deal to work things out if we have any conflicts over all it wasn't love at first sight but now more in love than before, more intelligent and happy. Glad I didn't make an unconscious decision I was always conscious since the beginning and continue to be that way. Just define what you want and be specific! Blessings

This makes so much sense. At first sight, I felt such strong emotions attached to her. When I got to know her a bit more, I began to fall so deeply in love with her. I always anticipated those Sundays in that coffee shop, so exited to see her again, and each time the feeling only got stronger. However, in my mind I was jealous of all of the things she could accomplish that I couldn't do, and all of her past when she had it so much worse than me. I was looking for a reason that I had all of this anger towards the problems of this world, for I had such a perfect life wherein the only problem was me. She got progressively more caught up in school and work and her future in general over the two years since we'd met that she had increasingly less time for me, and I never told her that I loved her. All of that pain in my heart when I realized it was never going to work reminded me how we met. I thought we'd have a perfect life together, and all I had to do was let her know I'd die for her. As it turns out, it doesn't work like that. Not at all. Nowadays, I think of her as a fucking evil bitch that I can't help but love, yet I know she doesn't mean any harm. At least now I know why I feel this way. Thank you, Teal.

If only it was possible to create an intense attraction after compatibility is there. Literally my perfect partner exists, but she exists without me feeling any physical or sexual attraction. I think this is one of the most insightful videos walking away from a relationship where I had no subconscious attraction from the start, and they were triggered based on the incompatibility of my sharing healing and growth with them, and them not wanting to have it from me. Their difficulty had to do with self-worth. Of course, receiving that from someone who becomes that for you as a mirror back to oneself apart from the attachment would jeopardize their subconscious need for safety (which allowed for deep emotional connection), and blast it into bits within just two weeks - no contact. This all makes sense, so thank you beautiful soul!

Beautifully articulated as usual. In 1945 Dr Robert Johnston published a trilogy of books.."He"..."She" and "We..The Psychology of Romantic Love". Demonstrates the Teal is tuned into ageless wisdom, as was Robert. He used Jungian psychology to interpret the ancient myth of Tristan and Iseult...many generations later to become Romeo and Juliet..Many say Shakespeare was "tuned in" also...

People live in the comfort of ideas rather than the discomfort of reality. This is a easily predictable trait in a mind that works in concepts. If you like the idea of true love be ready for diving into the self. Remember though that is where all the contradictions lie.

I have said almost this same thing about only having kids!!! I was with my sons dad for 7 years , living together for 6 , before he was born... I thought I knew what I was getting into but the minute my son was born it started to fall apart and we didnt last a year. I feel like it would have been easier to have a kid with someone I barely knew. because unlike my situation where we had to unlearn 7 years, while adjusting to a new life, learning to BE a different person, while learning to LOVE a different person , while thrown into unknown territory blindfolded... you would learn to be parents together from scratch.

Teal refers very accurately, to the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious mind, and the consequence of different inner interactions. Once that is fully realized, a strange thing happens. Like time in school,although valuable at the time, those lessons no longer have any significance. You have passed beyond them into the reality of "NOW"....Making promises , by definition, involves judgment about future events, which, albeit ,is well intentioned, it is also illusory. Perhaps a variation on an old movie theme ("LoveStory")..."Love means never having to make promises" The strange bit being..love exists in the moment..so if your attention is in the past OR future, it diminishes. In that sense, love isnt only enough, it is all there "IS".

There is a price to be paid from both sides of the relationship barrier.The ultimate goal is to be whole, as she pointed out. Some discover their wholeness without the need for shadows of others. The outcome is the same. Love for all life. The cause for much despair from both sides, is the belief that we need others, to be complete, whether you have someone or not. I bet you have heard strong views from both sides ;-)

Jimmy Hustler Some are motivated by fear, some by a greater love (greater than the romantic version..with expectation as per the vid). I figured out many years ago, why some of the priestcraft chose celibacy.They are from a background that suggests they cannot have both, not out of the fear you suggest, but the fear of not giving their all to mankind, but fear non the less.

Hmm I sort of wanted to hear that it might be a good thing to have both styles, like a stable harmonious relationship with a hint of great expansion from the unconscious trauma. Or a relationship with huge expansion with a hint of peaceful tranquility. Balance is the key otherwise it can stress you out too much or seem too boring depending on who you are of course.
@RainbowLogic
@RainbowLogic 9 жыл бұрын
Integrating all IS balance. Teal often speaks from a dualistic perspective, where many like to challenge themselves. The facts are that we are all compatible. The root 'issue' 'behind' these discussions is peoples acceptance and ownership of their own creations and creatorhood. These dualistic conversations are a shuffling instead of owning, coming from a place and viewpoint of that there is an attainable 'lack' or 'hole' to fill, when the reality is that everything IS your creation. The dualistic perspective is nothing but a futile attempt to disown. This video works from an assumed premise, which can seem to be all, although it is nothing but yet one of infinite. Personally I like to view and stem from a 'Tranquil' or 'Harmonious', simply because it IS harmonious no matter what. Action-reaction. The expansion part of all this is simply as Abraham Hicks would say, keeping up with our expansion,, our creations. (Big secret here.. 'allowance') A knowing. Point being that this reality IS my creation and it stems from my, and the universal heart of all creation, a tranquil home for all to create and co-create. From this is where I create contrast in perspective, or expansion. The words 'I Love You' ring universal in that we are all our 'fathers' and 'mothers', and I do thank you indeed. That was very well put Teal, thanks. Conscious Compatability is very important, and Commitment, 3C's and if you have that desire thing as well, 3C D. To say a relationship is in 3cd, desire falling in behind instead of in front after a deep conscious inspection, that is a good recipe. I had a relationship like that, we were compatable and we had the desire, but then our compatability changed and so did the status of our relationship..I think if I would have known it like this I could have seriously saved myself a lot of suffering, but hey No regrets right, we have 2 amazing boys! But you know when tell yourself for so long that this person is your soulmate it is hard to leave, or be left...

I have always been confused by people trying to jump into a relationship with me just because we have a spark or connection. There is no prior thought or conversation about long term goals, compatibility or values. I am always the one saying no because I sense incompatibility miles away

Love has so many definitions ... which one do you pick that is common to you, and then how long could it possibly last, because it is common to you?

Not that many..but many have a common lack of understanding. You give birth to a child, knowing that is day one towards having to part. Do you love it less because of that awareness? Ultimate love has nothing to do with time. It "JUST IS".

Thank you for this wonderful video. Just one thing wasn't clear to me... "If we feel empty before we get into a relationship we will end up feeling just as empty after we get into the relationship" What does this mean exactly, why so? I understood that we feel attracted to someone because we are not owning all our parts and for that reason we are attracted to someone who expresses these parts. Then we become whole together because we complete each others hidden parts (shadows.) we will lose the unconscious attraction though because there is no lack of wholeness anymore. But if there is love (appreciation and conscious intimate connection) and conscious compatibility, why would we feel empty? Or did you/she mean that we will feel empty only if there is NO conscious compatibility and love, after the unconscious attraction has stopped? Thank you for anyone who has insights to this

I also wish to add the very subject of your intro in regards to the lack there of. The lack of or denying of female and male side. THAT in and of itself is HUGE. It would be a great topic and discussion to go into a deeper understanding or depth. Because it is that which causes and brings up most of the problems as it seems to be part of the core of many issues BEFORE the actual REALATIONSHIP can begin. I know I would really appreciate a deeper understanding and teaching on this subject for it would really benefit and give clarity as to why and where the problems are and how to better cope in order to see a future at all in any sort of healthy or romantic way. :) Thank you. I hope that someday happens. Thank you for even the light on that very shadow side that often does not get seen enough.

in arranged marriages, it is basically a business merger. they marry for money and social connections. finding or not finding love in the relationship is not a priority compared to the financial success of the families involved. it is also difficult for them to divorce as it would rock the financial boat of their extended families. that wavy background is making me seasick
