That was really interesting and fun to watch. I can see how important it is to have positive rudder control on the ground just after landing when the tail wheel is off the ground and the tail is still light. It'd be tough to get that correct if you were doing it for the first time on the first landing without practicing. You're also getting used to the sight picture while taxing, talking to the tower, getting familiar with the airport procedures, etc. You'll have plenty of other new things to do once you get in the air!

That’s for sure! Want this ground work to come automatic, as much as possible. I did see that the tail was up an inch or so on some of the pass, which is great. Tomorrow I’ll pus the stick a little more foreword to see if I can taxi in a tail low position but off the ground.

Hello Dennis. I like how you explain the process. I have seen other peoples test videos and they don't exactly explain why they spend so much time ground testing. I have watched your videos way back when you were building the fuselage. I pointed out that one detail about the fuselage that caused it to curve more in the rear which ended up not being a big deal. The plane looks absolutely fantastic. You did an awesome job!

Thanks for following along for so long! I am certainly trying to share as much about the process as I can

Awesome! I am so stoaked to see this! My max wings and tail have been hanging in my garage for 5 years... (guess how old my daughter is)

That will definitely have an impact!

very surprised how the tail fin remains stable... and it seems that it is without too much work on the pedals! quite a bird!

I feel like I’m barely moving the pedals compared to the Citabria. Definitely working on those fine motor skills.

Good to make friends with your plane on the ground, just one issue I see is this is not getting the pressures up in the cylinders to seat the piston rings, so there is a chance of glazing the bores, if your are not careful.
@DTMinimax9 ай бұрын
I have been tying it down at the hangar and doing some full power time after taxing. I was concerned about the same thing. The break in procedure was supposed to seat the rings

@@DTMinimax interesting it takes a bit longer with the AeroVee engine.

What are the break in instructions on your AeroV?
@flyingkub9 ай бұрын
@@DTMinimax 25hrs total but over the first hour to be above 3000rpm which is a high power setting.
