I love Mila's connection to nature as an observer and not being so ick with snakes as many people would be and realizing their role within the natural world. Really grounds her with a rural audience who see snakes everyday and have the same insight as her.

@@jonnym4670 I hate it when people say "This or that video *cured* my depression". Random videos cannot magically cure a real depression. Depression is a serious mental illness and people should stop throwing around the word depression whenever they get bored or a bit down.

I grew some tomatoes, peppers, and basil cost me 129 dollars for 5 tomatos 3 peppers and and jar of pesto from the basil ☹

People don't realize the taste difference between locally grown vegetables (especially tomatoes) and what you buy in the store. Store bought tomatoes are manipulated genetically to 1. not bruise during shipping, and to be 2. bright red(for visual appeal)... taste and nutrition aren't even a concern at all when they breed them.

Been a cook for over 25 years , and to me the quality of the base ingredients is one of if not the most important part of any dish. I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. A good tomato is one of my favorite things to eat.

Mila, if you read these, read up about Terra Preta, which was invented by the Mayans to help poor soil for farming. Also, grow a salsa garden to add to the tomatoes, because after you make salsa, you can out it in jars and freeze it.

She was always asked about the language - which of course is Russian - but I've seen her talking about being from Ukraine several times over at least the last decade, including correcting interviewers or talk show hosts on it when they referred to Russia instead. (She may also, at some points, have said to be from the Soviet Union, which of course is also true for the time she lived there as a child.)

While fishing in Montana once (Madison River), I was walking through a field of high grass and heard the very distinct sound of a rattlesnake to my right and I’ve never been more scared in my life. I just kept walking and walking and walking…until I got to the car. 😂. I don’t do snakes well.

When I lived on Vancouver island, I used to go hiking alone with my hunting knife on my hip and often used to fantasise about killing any cougar that might happen to pounce on me, then dragging it out of the forest to keep it’s pelt. To honour it, and it’s attempt at taking my life. Call me strange if you will but I can identify with Conan on this one.

Depending on the type of aquifer you hit, you could hit some water that is high in sulfer which tastes terrible and is costly to filter.

It always makes me smile when people talk about sentient beings or not (3:36) when we still can't even define what consciousness really is. It really goes to show how most of us just live life and repeat things we hear but never really knowing if what we say has truth to it.

in the Middle east if you want to dig a well... you call this guys to look for water they carry two sticks and they start walking around and they start telling where to dig and how much deep and if the water is drinkable or not and they even tell the movement underground which side is going before digging...!!!! i swear i didn't believe it at first when when start digging is exactly as they describe it of course some of them are fake but some are so good at telling just by two stick in their hands

“Nobody needs hundreds of carrots at once.” This is hilarious. You don’t eat them all at the same time. You pick the carrots and then put them in a cool dark place so you can eat them for the next 6-8 months like a cold cellar or a refrigerator. People are so sheltered today. Everyone would be dead if this were the 1800s.

Ok, life expanctancy in the 1800 is estimated to be about 30/40 years old and child mortality rate was pretty high , so yeah she prob would have been dead , carrots or not.
