This was excellently edited. Using Master Duel style sounds and visuals made the duels much more exciting and easier to follow for new players. I have often wondered how Yugioh attracts new players at all, given how complicated the game is. Content like this is exactly the sort of thing that will make the game more approachable.

23:15 how do you both read Nightmare throne and miss the fact that a Yubel has to leave the field by a card effect for you to summon another one? it does not trigger when it dies by battle.

@@BigYoof Well he only used the effect of it when he attacked with the level 11 one. He used the effects of the 10's itself for the others. Which he can do since they got destroyed by battle.

I would suggest getting Purrely if you want an entry level deck. It's a decent competitive deck if you want to play at a higher level without breaking the bank. Most of the expensive cards were just reprinted and are very affordable

According to card rulings on the Konami db - Nightmare Throne can't activate during the damage step.

Throne should be able to activate since it doesn’t specify “only during your main phase” like pain does. Throne only specifies once per turn doesn’t say when in the turn. Throne will only activate if a yubel or yubel monster is removed from the field via card effect. So technically Sam couldn’t go from terror into spirit since terror didn’t leave by card effect, rather by battle I could be wrong but can you link where it cant be used in battle id love to see

Generally, only effects that meet at least one of these criteria can be activated during the Damage Step: - Counter Trap Card activations - Effects that negate the activation of a card or effect - Effects that directly modify ATK/DEF. (Only before reaching Damage Calculation) - Mandatory effects - Trigger effects that activate in response to the card itself being moved - Effects whose activation condition is specific to the Damage Step (Example: destruction by battle)"

It’s a dragon you can summon off of Seal for an extra interrupt if you need it! Gives the Tenpai deck an extra layer going first since the extra deck has like 3-4 flex spots.

Data Base Ruling for the Nightmare Pain question: What happens if my opponent's『you take no battle damage』effect, and my『your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken』effect, are both applying? Q: My opponent controls an Attack Position Tenpai Dragon Paidra, and its『you take no battle damage from battles involving your FIRE Dragon monsters』effect is applying. I control Nightmare Pain, and its『your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles involving your "Yubel" monsters』effect is applying. If Tenpai Dragon Paidra now attacks my Attack Position Yubel, how much damage will each player take? A: First of all, Yubel's『inflict damage to your opponent equal to that attacking monster's ATK』effect will resolve, dealing 1700 effect damage (equal to Tenpai Dragon Paidra's ATK) to your opponent. Afterwards, damage calculation is performed. If multiple effects change how damage is calculated, they are applied in the following order: 01: This card inflicts double battle damage. 02: Battle damage is taken by both players. 03: Battle damage you take is also inflicted to your opponent / your opponent takes any battle damage you would take instead. 04: Battle damage is treated as effect damage. 05: The player gains Life Points instead of taking battle damage. 06: Battle damage becomes 0. 07: Battle damage is halved. 08: Battle damage is doubled. 09: Battle damage becomes X (X being a predetermined value). 10: You do not take battle damage if it is more or less than X. (However, note that if the Battle Damage has become 0 when applying "06" effects, the remaining effects are not applied.) Here, Nightmare Pain's effect corresponds to "03" above, while Yubel's and Tenpai Dragon Paidra's effects correspond to "06". Therefore, first, due to Nightmare Pain's effect, it will be determined that the 1700 points of battle damage you would have taken will be taken by your opponent instead. Then, due to Tenpai Dragon Paidra's effect, your opponent will take no battle damage. Therefore, neither player will take any battle damage from this battle.
