Around The World Motorcycle Ride
The incredible TeapotOne LIVE Your Life - Around The World Motorcycle Ride is the story of Bruce Smart's epic 74,000 miles, 54 countries in 442 days, solo & unsupported around the world by motorcycle adventure, to keep a promise.
From 1st October 2012 to 14th June 2014, Bruce Smart rode a Suzuki GSX-R1000 74,000 miles around the world, solo and unsupported, through 54 countries to keep a promise he made his mum before she lost her battle with cancer. There were ups, there were downs, highs and lows, but one aspect shone through, the overwhelming friendship and support shown from almost everybody he met around the world.
From Europe to South East Asia, Russia to Australasia, South America to the USA and Canada, almost everybody he met opened their lives and homes to a complete stranger, and the journey grew and grew.
The entire RTW adventure was caught on film, from issues with motorcycle shipping, to the most dangerous road traveled, this travel blog, or travel vlog, is a documentary you just can't miss.
-----
The 9th vid in the series, this hour long special covers South Korea & Japan, two incredibly beautiful, and culture rich countries on the trip. I catch up with my dad in Korea, as well as sample the roads with the 'Bang-Go Motorcycle Club' of Ulsan, before heading North to the beautiful city of Seoul and the DMZ.
Next up is Japan, with MiyaJima and Hiroshima first on the list. Later I venture out to Mount Fuji with the Gaijin Riders club, before coming a cropper on the twisty mountain roads.
Follow the incredible adventure here.

Fascinating bit of history with the tunnels under the Korean DMZ. I had no idea they had tunnels there. I've been in the widened tourist tunnels in Vietnam and ridden through the DMZ there in Central Vietnam which was an incredible experience. 👍 It was funny watching Karl nodding his head in the background despite not understanding anything you were saying. 🤣 There must have been a strange energy at Hiroshima. Such sadness but also hope for peace. Japan looks awesome! I know so many people who have visited Japan recently and it is starting to really be on my radar for future travel. How cool to visit Suzuka and see the famous "Closs Over"! 🤣And Motegi too! I'm one to get excited by visiting racetracks too. When I was in the USA in 2012, I dragged my family along on a slight detour to stop at Laguna Seca. It had to be done! 😂 Bloody hell mate! I knew the crash was coming as I've heard you talk about it enough on the podcast, but I was still gutted for you when you went down. Luckily you had the help of one of my own there to help you, so no more bashing us Aussies OK! 🤣🤪 It's amazing how some countries let foreign dirt in, no way your bike would have gotten into Australia with a radiator like that! And the air filter! 🤣 Here I was thinking the beard stayed for good from that point on! But nope! Should have left the mutton chops for sure. 🤣 Great video mate! Long but well worth the watch! I enjoyed this one a lot. 👍

@@teapotone I've had 2 overseas holidays (not travels as such, Fiji and Bali) the past 2 years. But no international travels this year for me due to a career change as a motorbike instructor, aside from a bike trip later in the year to South Australia for a V-Strom meetup. 👍 Japan maybe next year!

I'm fresh over from TMF don't know why I have been waiting my time watching him, anyway I jumped to this episode, because I'm from Yorkshire, but live in Japan, good to see you caught up with gaijinriders. Whoops about the wee (your native tongue) slide... anyway I have had heaps of big, fast, bikes, but currently tour around on a Honda Cross Cub. Down hill twisties, I'm right behind the sports bikes, bloody holding me up...🤔....right I'll rewind to episode 2...

Loving this Bruce! Lived in Japan off and on for my old career and kinda missing it so, nice that you shared your documentary. Spent a couple months at the base of Mt. There is a cutaway shot at 51:33 while you were explaining your next move, which amazed me, as you were so close to the exclusion zone the image actually had radiation specs all over the image...wow... We get this impression that the Japanese have some how cleaned all this up , which of course is stupid to think so, as this is radiation...not some sort of pollution. Amazing shot .
