For an antenna I would mount a tube on from or drive on to allow a base for a mast. A buddipole would work or a wire antenna.

I have a home built teardrop. For an antenna I mounted a small receiver hitch under the frame, and built a flag pole mount to go in the receiver. I have a harbor freight flag pole, that I currently run a j-pole antenna for 2 meter, on top of. For HF operation, I have a Wolf River Coils antenna that I set up. In and around the trailer I have installed power poles for plugging in radios, and some pass-through connectors for coax.

I have been looking at small teardrop campers for a long time. Like you Tom, at my age I do not care to sleep on the ground or set up and break down tents...lol! I live in an HOA that would not allow me to park an RV trailer in my driveway so, I would have to have one that I could store in my garage. This one looks like it would fit. Have fun and keep us posted...73!

If you are towing with your SUV, I would go with an MFJ tri magnet mag mount and a Ham Stick on the SUV. Or, a Wolf River Coil. I prefer the Ham Sticks because you tune them and then they are always just ready to go. Very fast to go from parking to on the air. I did a POTA from Texas this weekend and worked Alaska, Maine and Puerto Rico on SSB. BTW, that was with an FTDX-10 go box.

@@hamradiocq I got a 5 gallon bucket and about two feet of 3 inch plastic pipe, construction white variety. I can’t seem to recall at this moment what the name is, my age. I also purchased an end cap and a reducer that fits on the three inch pipe. I mixed some concrete in the and plunged the pipe into the concrete which was in the bucket. Fill the bucket about 1/3 with the concrete, adjust the top reducer and I then, after drying I added a sided pole. Portable and put it on the back or front of the camper.

Very nice brother, would love to have one of those. There sre so many options for antennas that I would probably have 2 or 3 with me with that set up including a 20/40 meter trapped dipole along with a vertical such as a DX Commander Expedition, or a Wolf River Silver Bullitt. Also so manty opportunities for wires that you already have so much practice with. Let the fun begin!
